**Responsibilities**:
By effectively managing IT projects, programmes and the IT portfolio, this strategic function contributes directly to the success of IT and the digital transformation and modernisation at D'Ieteren Automotive, aligning initiatives with the company's strategic objectives.
Result areas:
The Portfolio and Program Delivery Manager is responsible for guiding and leading a team dedicated to achieving the following objectives. This function is not a solo job, but rather a leadership assignment where the manager is responsible for setting up and coordinating a competent team to achieve the desired results. Key result areas, achieved in collaboration with this team, include:
Portfolio Strategy and Programme Management:
- Define and maintain the overall IT project portfolio strategy, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure continued alignment with organisational objectives.
- Develop and oversee the programme delivery plan, ensuring alignment with expectations in terms of time, cost and quality.
Coordination and Synergy:
- To ensure effective coordination between the various change requests, projects and programmes in order to optimise resources and results.
- Manage interdependencies and synergies within the portfolio to maximise overall efficiency.
Monitoring and control:
- Implementing monitoring systems (cockpits, dashboards) to monitor the progress, budgets and resources of projects and programmes.
- Identify and proactively manage risks and issues affecting projects and the portfolio as a whole.
Communication and Reporting:
- Ensure transparent and effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and present detailed project progress reports to management committees and other decision-making bodies.
Capacity and Resource Management:
- Plan and manage IT capacity to meet the needs of current and future projects.
- Optimising the allocation of human and material resources across the various projects.
Stakeholder Management:
- Identifying, engaging and managing key stakeholders, providing technical solutions tailored to their needs.
- Facilitating collaboration and communication between the different project teams and other departments.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Introduce innovative practices and continuous improvements in the management of projects and programmes.
- Evaluating and integrating new technologies or methodologies to improve project delivery.
Financial Management:
- Monitor and control the financial aspects of the entire portfolio, including budget, costs and financial forecasts.
- Participates in budget exercises and contributes to strategic financial decision-making.
Change Management and Governance:
- Identifying change management needs and implementing strategies to facilitate the adoption of change.
- Participating in defining and ensuring compliance with project and programme governance.
Liaison with Department Managers:
- Ensure effective coordination with Highway Managers to align projects and programmes with corporate strategies.
Portfolio Update and Maintenance:
- Ensure that the project portfolio is regularly updated and accurately reflects the current status of ongoing initiatives.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and manage risks throughout the life cycle of projects and programmes.
Supplier Management:
- Manage relationships with external suppliers and service providers in managing the delivery of projects and programmes to be delivered.
- Ensuring that supplier performance meets contractual agreements in managing the delivery of projects and programmes.
Compliance and Governance:
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Establish and enforce governance frameworks for IT projects, programmes and portfolio.
Team Management
- Leading and developing a team specialising in IT programme and project management, ensuring that skills are matched to the specific needs of each initiative.
- Build project management capacity within the team, focusing on project planning, execution, monitoring and control.
- To promote a rigorous and methodical project management culture, while encouraging innovation in programme and project management approaches.
