The Engineering Platforms Manager will lead our efforts in developing and optimizing engineering platforms that are critical to our development and operational processes. As a leadership role, this position not only involves technical oversight but also managing and mentoring a team of platform developers, CI/CD engineers, database administrators, and software engineers. You exhibit strong leadership qualities, a deep technical foundation, and a strategic mindset to drive innovation and efficiency across our engineering practices.
Key responsibilities:
- You strategically lead the design, development, and continuous enhancement of our engineering platforms, ensuring they support efficient and effective development and deployment processes.
- You oversee the integration and optimization of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring automated and seamless processes for code integration, testing, and deployment across projects.
- You direct and enhance database administration strategies to ensure high performance, security, and reliability of our data management systems.
- You guide and mentor software engineering teams in adopting and implementing best practices, methodologies, and technologies to improve development efficiency and product quality.
- You foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, managing a team of technical professionals by setting clear goals, providing ongoing feedback, and facilitating professional development opportunities.
- You collaborate with cross-functional leadership teams to align engineering platform strategies with broader business objectives and operational requirements.
- You implement monitoring, analytics, and feedback loops to continually assess the performance of engineering platforms and identify areas for improvement.
- You champion the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, including cloud services, containerization, and microservices architectures, to enhance platform scalability, resilience, and performance.
- You lead knowledge sharing and training initiatives to ensure team members are well-versed in the latest technologies and methodologies relevant to our engineering platforms.
- You negotiate with vendors and manage partnerships to secure the best tools, technologies, and support, ensuring our platforms remain at the forefront of industry standards.
- You ensure delivery of E2E observability solutions for IT and Telco services as well as business processes, to shorten time to detect and repair and ease operations (centralized troubleshooting capabilities, automation of the impact analysis, root case analysis and incident resolution).
Your Profile
- You have an experience of min. 10 years in platform engineering, including significant leadership responsibilities.
- You have a demonstrated expertise in software engineering practices, with a proven ability to design and manage high-availability engineering platforms.
- You have strong leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring technical teams, setting strategic directions, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- You have a deep technical knowledge of automation tools, cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), containerization technologies, and microservices architectures.
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with both technical teams and executive management.
- You are a strategic thinker with a track record of implementing technological and process improvements that enhance development workflows and product.
