Do you want to be responsible for ensuring that our facilities are always in order and operational? And do you want to be part of a regional team of constructional colleagues who attach importance to discussion and collaboration? You must ensure the operation of our locations in Belgium and collaborate with your colleagues in the UK, DK and NL. You will be given independent responsibility for the buildings in Belgium near Brussels, with close collaboration with our Facility Manager in the Netherlands.
Your challenges
You are part of our Regional Facility Management team, which is responsible for ensuring the operation of our facilities, including building maintenance inside and outside, maintenance of technical installations, green areas and paved areas, cleaning and various service tasks. We have outsourced the performance of the operations tasks to several subcontractors, but as a Facility Manager, you lead the process from when a need arises until we have found a satisfactory solution.
You will be based in Wavre on the outskirts of Brussels, where most of your work will be. You can also expect to collaborate with and have a few working days at our Sales Company in the Netherlands. You can expect 10-15 travel days a year at home and abroad, such as for workshops and meetings at our head office in Hørsholm, Denmark.
You work with sales managers and employees at the locations, as well as service partners, external advisors and contractors when you:
- Ensure that our external service partner delivers as agreed and explore the possibilities for optimising service offerings
- Ensure planning and compliance with budgets, including posting and payment of invoices
- Hold regular progress meetings with management at your locations
- Assist each location with budgeting (next year’s Facility Management budget)
- Ensure the implementation of planned re-establishment and maintenance tasks as a developer with budgetary responsibility
- Ensure the rapid and correct implementation of construction projects arising from the change of use of our office premises

Your qualifications
We are looking for a colleague who wants to collaborate in the operation of all the VELUX Group’s facilities, but at the same time, will also take independent responsibility for their own locations. Therefore, it is essential that you are good at communicating with customers and colleagues. We imagine that you:
- Are a trained design engineer or structural engineer and have a good understanding of energy
- Have experience in the operation and maintenance office buildings, and used to preparing operational and maintenance plans, as well as ensuring pricing and implementation
- Have experience in the implementation of construction projects. Renovations, new builds and the like
- Are experienced using the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
- Speak and write (Flemish, French) and English fluently
- Have a driving licence.
