In order to achieve this, the Information Architect needs to get it “just right”. She/he knows this is the ultimate sophistication exercise: although the output may seem very logical, evident and simple, the process run to achieve that result wasn’t. It requires thorough understanding of users and their context, seeing the big picture but also focussing on relevant details, bridging the gap between users and the technical aspects.
Typically, it involves a model or concept of information that is used and consistently applied to all the aspects of system/product design: conception phase, requirements, system design, technical design, training, rollout, support.
The information architect will need to have a mastery over a wide range of programs and thinking styles. An Information Architect needs an eagle eye for detail and a simultaneous focus on the big picture. She/he is a strong communicator and is able to genuinely understand and build bridges between end users, senior leadership, technical engineers, and all other involved audiences. She/he is not an expert in one specific domain, but has a wide scale of skills ranging from leadership, social and communication skill, up to technical skills.
The information architect will report into the head of Architecture Office.
In short: Architect as in the creating of systemic, structural, and orderly principles to make something work — the thoughtful making of either artifact, or idea, or policy that informs because it is clear.

**Job Duties**:
- Identifies user requirements and ueser journeys by researching and analysing user needs, preferences, objectives, and working methods; studying how users consume content, including data categorization and labelling; meeting with focus groups.
- Plans information architecture by studying, understanding the system landscape, business and functional architecture, strategy, and target audience; envisioning architectural scheme, information structure and features, functionality, and user-interface design; creating user scenarios; preparing data models; designing information structure, work-and dataflow, and navigation; evaluating information representation; conducting creative meetings.
- Organizes information by translating user behaviour into information structure and elements; crafting interactive experiences; producing workflow diagrams, user scenarios, flowcharts, and storyboards; preparing interaction specifications, navigation rules, organization of information, coordinating with business, technology, visual, structural, editorial, cognitive, and brand strategy.
- Implements information architecture by providing and directing upon the necessary elements required for successful adoption of the information architecture.
- Understands information needs required for our development & rollout teams, and present this information in such a way that it is understandable & usable for these target audiences.
- Validates, in collaboration with colleagues, with the users that the available information and usage of it fits the needs.
