(Senior) Liability Claims Handler

Our client is a leading global enterprise insurer. The company provides customized insurance solutions for businesses through a network covering more than 150 countries. In Belgium, from its offices in Brussels and Antwerp, our client focuses, with more than 80 experienced colleagues, on the branches of Fire, Liability, Technical Insurance and Transport, as well as numerous specialized products.
**Description**
- Complete management of own claims files from initial notification to reimbursement and closure of the file, whether or not after exercising recourse:
- Analysis of elements/facts after claim notification, correct entry of new claim files in an internal system based on data received from insured and/or broker;
- Appointing and directing an expert if necessary and further follow-up in consultation with broker;
- Internal reporting of important claim files to the production department, management, head office and in-house risk management team;
- After settlement of the claim, assessing the merits of the claim and, if necessary, initiating and proactively following up recovery actions against liable parties.
- Management (coordination, follow-up, etc.) of claims files related to local policies within the framework of international insurance programs. Maintaining contacts with colleagues worldwide in order to identify possible problems with the aim of optimizing claims management;
- Preparation and discussion of claims statistics in support of the production department with a view to renewing policies;
- Proactive follow-up of open claims files.
- Keeping reserves continuously up to date according to the evolution of the claims file;
- Regular meetings with fellow claims managers with the aim of sharing and gaining knowledge;
- Giving feedback to all colleagues involved with regard to the interpretation of policy conditions following a claim and possibly proposing updates to the policy in order to better align it with the activities of the insured.
**Profile**
- Master/Bachelor's degree or equivalent through experience
- Minimum experience in claims management Liability and related risks
- Good knowledge of Dutch/French/English
- Good knowledge of Office 365
- Team player who can work independently
- Accurate with a sense of analysis
- Communicative (both oral and written) and service oriented
- Eager to learn and open to innovation
- Motivated and stress resistant
