Budget Technician

**Duties**:

- Act as 650th MI Group POC for travel problems and questions on topics ranging from software use, entitlements, travel policy issues, transaction problems and payment problems.
- Coordinate with the lead budget analyst on all travel fund budget issues.
- Prepare extensive and budget status reports for travel for the command and analyst review.
- Prepare SF-1034s (Public Voucher for purchase and services Other than Personal) for miscellaneous payments paid by the SHAPE Finance Office.
- Establish and track document numbers for purchase requests and bills submitted to the S-8 for processing.
- Computes, edits, and consolidates monthly feeder or other reports for assigned budgetary areas.
- Researches commitment, obligation, and disbursement discrepancies and initiates corrective action.
- Develop statistics and cost data for use in programming, planning, and execution of the Group?s travel budget.
- Facilitates Defense Travel System (DTS) training for all travelers to ensure compliance with organization policies and principles.
- Reviews all TDY requests and vouchers to assure agreement of budgetary account codes, dollar amounts, and compliance with regulations and procedures.
- Serve as an Agency Program Coordinator for the Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC).

- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance based on a single scope background investigation (SSBI).
- In accordance with AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Temporary duty (TDY) travel will be required up to 5% of the time.
- THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 1 Certified position designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012,
- Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, section 1051, amending 10 United States Code, section 1599d.
- Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.
- Per Management Discretion. Due to COVID-19, the agency is currently in an expanded telework posture. If selected, you may be expected to temporarily telework, even if your home is located outside the local commuting area.
- Once employees are permitted to return to the office, you will be expected to report to the duty station listed on this announcement within a designated time frame identified by the organization.
- At that time, you may be eligible to request to continue to telework one or more days a pay period depending upon the terms of the agency's telework policy.
