You are motivated by work that is never the same from one day to the next. As a Research Associate in Material Sciences, you are unafraid of navigating through vital internal processes to facilitate a product you deeply believe in.

**Your Team**

Based on the Braine Alliance Park site, you will be part of the Analytical Chemistry and Material Sciences International team, under the Renal Care R&D division, working on Peritoneal Dialysis and HemoDialysis Therapies.

This is a hybrid position with both onsite and remote work allowed.

**What you'll be doing**
- Initiate and lead internal initiatives and develop strategies and procedures to optimise the operations excellence of the Materials team and community, focusing on materials characterization and assessment across business units related to product life cycle quality and compliance.
- Work with key functional partners (Design Owners, Project Managers, Regulatory Affairs, Preclinical, Quality, Manufacturing, etc.) to understand the needs for various products and therapies and to influence in the area of expertise.
- Collect data and evidence to answer authorities' questions on material compliance and write responses autonomously in a clear and structured way.
- Perform a technical analysis of materials incorporated into the simple, sophisticated medical device design.
- Resolve and communicate whether and how the materials in the design meet regulatory and product requirements.
- Conduct non-routine research assignments to advance internal knowledge of materials for product development and lifecycle management.
- Actively contribute analysis in regulated documentation systems for Quality

**What you'll bring**
- Recognition as a technical authority in Materials Science with the ability to coordinate and design laboratory studies.
- Ability to communicate issues in a regulated environment to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to guide and mentor junior associates and colleagues.
- Demonstrates flexibility and can shift gears comfortably.
- Knowledge of scientific fields outside the area of expertise (such as Extractables and Leachables) and general quality and business systems is recommended.
- Knowledge of compendial (EP and USP) and ISO chemical compliance (materials, containers and disposables)
- Proficient French
