Knowledge Management and Learning Advisor
Solidaridad is a global civil society organization that provides solutions for sustainable production practices across different supply chains. Our mission is to bring together supply chain players and engage them with innovative solutions to improve production, ensuring the transition to a sustainable and inclusive economy that maximizes the benefit for all. Solidaridad is an international network organization consisting of eight regional expertise centers located around the world (Asia, Southern Africa, East and Central Africa, West Africa, South America, Central America, North America and Europe), each with their own specific expertise and focus. In Solidaridad Europe, the Knowledge Management and Learning (KML) team is building knowledge to deliver effective, efficient and relevant programming and to enable continuous improvement in the organization.
The KML strategy is based on three pillars:
- Solidaridad Europe staff is continuously learning and improving;
- Knowledge is shared and accessible for all staff in the organization;
- Quality evidence is collected, analyzed, reported and used.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As Knowledge Management & Learning Advisor you will:
- Provide technical advice regarding Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (PMEL) to colleagues in the Europe office. During the development of new projects, you will provide advice regarding the development of Theories of Change, the selection of indicators, and the development of measurement plans and data collection tools. During the implementation of projects, you will provide advice regarding harvesting outcomes, data analysis, capturing lessons learned, and the management of external evaluations;
- Facilitate reflection and learning sessions within the organization;
- Contribute to the development of knowledge products such as packaged Solidaridad Solutions, track records, lessons learned reports, project fact sheets, and case study reports;
- Follow external developments on relevant knowledge and research in order to make knowledge accessible and set up joint research projects with knowledge partners;
- Provide advice during the development and implementation of team learning plans (Solidaridad Europe) and thematic learning plans (Solidaridad Network). This involves analysis of learning needs, advice on the development of learning trajectories and facilitation of learning activities;
- Monitor the overall development of the learning organization, using an annual survey, and develop an action plan to improve learning in Solidaridad Europe;
- Play a proactive signaling function related to PMEL quality and opportunities for more synergies in programmatic strategies.
You will work closely with the KML team members, other core activity teams within Solidaridad Europe and program staff of other regional expertise centers of the Solidaridad Network. You report to the Head of KML in Europe.
PROFILE
You are passionate about promoting learning in organizations and willing to further develop your technical knowledge in this field.
- 3 -5 years of experience in advising on knowledge management and/or planning, monitoring & evaluation;
- Masters degree in development studies, international relations, social studies, earth sciences or another relevant education;
- Affinity with the vision and mission of Solidaridad;
- Reflective and learning competences, and drive for continuous improvement;
- Excellent analytical and writing skills: skills in processing information and summarizing it in short papers and beautiful presentations;
- Service-oriented, proactive and team player;
- Pragmatic, flexible and autonomous;
- Ability to connect and work with people from all backgrounds and cultures;
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and excellent command of the English language.
OUR OFFER
- A unique and rewarding job within an inspiring and international setting, starting 1 March 2023 or as soon as possible after this date;
- You will join the Knowledge Management and Learning team in Utrecht, and will have the opportunity to work with an innovative and dedicated network of professionals across the world;
- A one-year contract with the possibility of extension, 32-36 hours/week;
- Gross salary between EUR 2957,19 and EUR 4707,58, based on 36 hours/week (salary scale 10);
- An additional holiday allowance (standard in the Netherlands) will be paid to the employee in May of every calendar year. The holiday allowance is 8% of the gross salary earned in the period from 1 June up to and including 31 May, prior to the date of the payment;
