**Intro**:
Belgian Red Cross-Flanders (BRC-FL) is part of the worldwide Red Cross movement. Respecting the seven principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality is at all times key in what we do. The International Department focuses on three thematic areas: International Humanitarian Law, Restoring Family Links and our International Operations. In close assistance to the sister national society of each country and its many volunteers, BRC-FL focuses on the implementation of activities in first aid, blood banking, disaster preparedness and disaster response, mainly in Africa.
In the coming years, BRC-FL will continue to enhance its strategy of being expertise-driven in order to maximize the impact of its operations. It highly values innovation, integrity, taking initiative and teamwork.

BRC-FL is looking for a Flying expert for First Aid Blended Learning (FABL) who will be based in Mechelen, but will travel on a regular basis (30% of the time) to Sub-Sahara countries in order to promote and implement our First Aid Blended Learning approach. The rollout of the First Aid Blended Learning approach based on our evidence-based First Aid materials for Sub-Sahara Africa is a strategic project for the organization and successful implementation of it will be one of your main targets.

We are looking for a business development profile with interest in the humanitarian sector and +3 years of experience.

What will you do?

In your role of Flying Expert you build an evidence base for interventions in your expertise area, First Aid Blended Learning: you gather data to monitor and assess the effectiveness of your projects and implement primary and secondary research together with the Focal Point and Belgian Red Cross Flanders' Centre for Evidence Based Practice. You measure impact, build evidence and continuously improve the project results.

The successful implementation of the First Aid Blended Learning approach based on our evidence-based First Aid materials for Sub-Sahara Africa is a strategic project for the organization. The achievement of the business plan targets linked to this strategic projects will be one of your main priorities, focusing upon a rollout of the methodology in 30 countries by 2027.

The Flying Expert is based in Belgium and travels frequently (about 30% of the time) to sub-Sahara Africa countries.

**Jouw profiel**:
Your profile:

- A university degree at master level in sciences or economics.
- and/or data management is a plus.
- A minimum of three years of business development experience is a big advantage.
- A proven track record in a result-oriented environment is a plus.
- Fluency in English is a must, both spoken and written.
- Knowledge of Dutch and French is an asset.
- Hands-on and ability to think out-of-the-box
- You have strong intercultural skills to convince and closely work together with African Red Cross National Societies
- You have a strong affinity with IT and love to work on innovative technical projects
- A mindset and knowledge to implement projects based upon evidence-based practice or a strong motivation to do so is expected.
- You work in a structured and methodical way and you can handle several deadlines and priorities
- You have an entrepreneurial mindset and are not looking for a random 9-to-5 job.
- You have a thorough knowledge of the most common software and online tools (e.g. MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, ).
