The International Cooperation department of Belgian Red Cross - Flanders works on development cooperation and emergency response. In these areas it manages projects in the area of first aid, blood banking, disaster preparedness and disaster response, mostly in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Belgian Red Cross - Flanders aims to increase the impact of its international projects by specializing in specific fields of expertise and developing evidence-based materials and delivery mechanisms in these fields. We are looking for a content expert, ready to develop projects in the expertise areas (Blood banking, First Aid, Disaster Preparedness/Response) of Belgian Red Cross - Flanders.

Previous experience in these expertise areas is not essential, as Belgian Red Cross - Flanders will provide all the relevant training, but you must be open to learning the ropes and have a good feel for practical organization as well as a strong sense of the accrual and transfer of knowledge. You are based in Mechelen and will travel occasionally to the project countries (about 5% of the time).

- You are a
- you develop a thorough understanding of the expertise areas of Belgian Red Cross - Flanders, in both a development and an emergency setting.
- Based on this, you formulate, document, propagate and implement best practices in our programs.
- You
- **develop new materials/delivery mechanisms**:
Together with the flying experts (technical project managers flying regularly to the project countries)- you map local needs and develop new materials
- you set up new delivery mechanisms to meet those needs.
- You
- **continuously improve project impact**:

- you gather data to monitor and assess the effectiveness of the projects
- you implement the results of primary and secondary research together with the Belgian Red Cross Flanders' Centre for Evidence Based Practice.
- You
- **design projects**:
- you design the intervention logic for new projects and support in writing proposals.

**Jouw profiel**:

- Who are you?- You are familiar with, or looking forward to dive into, the world of developmental and emergency aid
- You enjoy developing educational material, such as manuals and lesson plans, and thinking about the best way to deliver aid in an emergency context
- You combine a hands-on mentality with an accurate approach
- You have a master’s degree or equal by experience
- Blood banking, first aid or disaster preparedness/response experience are optional, but considered an advantage
- You are fluent in Dutch and English, and have a working knowledge of French.
