At Global Procurement we have embarked into a transformational journey aimed to leverage our function to generate incremental value for UCB. Our purpose is to systematically connect the needs of our business stakeholders to innovative solution coming from the market and the suppliers.
Our team is primarily focused on upstream procurement, business partnering with internal stakeholder, market analysis, demand management, negotiation, contract management and supplier relationship management.

This means that, even if a mínimal part of your day shall be dedicated to execute some transactional task, we are constantly looking at solutions to let you focus on more added value activates. Excel may still be one of your best friend, however you may benefit from a new data mining innovative tool and analysts to help you building your strategy and credibility with your stakeholders. Even though you shall diligently book saving in the system, build our contract database and daily managing your sourcing on-line, you will benefit from a new Robot helping you encoding contract and from a team creating e-RFP in Ariba.
You will benefit from joining a high impact and high performance team: we have systematically delivered saving over 5% of our addressable spend: Cost and cash optimization is and will remain one of our key priority and a key expected results. Alongside this traditional metric we have deployed a framework which is helping us on positioning our impact across different value drivers beyond saving. We created definitions for the innovation that procurement can bring to UCB and are classifying our project accordingly.

**A day in your (working) life**
You will be joining the Procurement Non-Commercial Indirect Team as a strategic sourcing manager, and managing sourcing projects in the clinical area (CRO, Clinical Research, Professional Services, Consultancy).
Depending on the project you will be working independently or as a part of a team to execute sourcing initiatives and ensure their successful deployment across the organization.
To be successful in your role you will need to build solid relationship and trust with your colleagues, your business stakeholders and the suppliers in your portfolio.
As a part of your responsibilities you shall fully adopt and embrace UCB procurement tools and process, diligently approving transactions, report your progresses and planned activities in the system and use the provided tools.
Depending on your expertise area and the needs of our internal stakeholder, we expect you to
- manage sourcing projects and initiative, connect with your business stakeholders, conduct negotiation with suppliers and coordinate contract finalization
- proactively identify sourcing opportunities and or propose improvement solutions
- analyze demand, analyze market trends and opportunities
- contribute or become accountable for the design, update and execution of specific category strategies
- help establish the organization as a sustainability leader
