The position of Commercial Excellence reports to the Business Unit Director, Life Sciences, who in turn reports directly to CEO. The position is based in our headquarters in Liège, Belgium. A mix of home-office and presence in our headquarters is possible.

We develop and produce products, kits, and reaction mixes for scientists. They use them in their molecular biology assays, diagnostic tests, and commercialization of new drugs.
In addition to our 11000+ genomics and proteomics catalog items, we assist our customers in their daily research by providing them chemically, enzymatically, or biologically synthesized tailor-made products.
Our offer includes research, diagnostic and therapeutic grade biomolecules such as oligonucleotides, plasmids, mRNA, peptides, recombinant proteins, and antibodies among others.
Our products and services are used all around the world in academia, institutes, medical and veterinary laboratories, and in diagnostic, agro-food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.
The head office is in Belgium (Liège).
**About the department**
Commercial Excellence is a new department in Business Unit Life Sciences at Kaneka Eurogentec. The department supports commercial strategy, leads commercial excellence initiatives, and supports sales and marketing operations on complex projects and value-adding activities along the sales process and customer journey.
We are looking for an individual that is excited about shaping this newly established role within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
**Mission**
The Commercial Excellence Manager’s (CEM) mission is to drive the development, execution, and implementation of the commercial excellence initiatives by working closely with the entire commercial organisation and other supporting functions.
The CEM applies efficient, actionable, and innovative recommendations to improve data management, process efficiency to maximise top and bottom-line results. She/He contributes to strategic sales and marketing decisions and plays a critical role in shaping and monitoring the commercial approach.
CEM will report directly to Business Unit Director and will be part of BU management team.
**Responsibilities**
Processes, tools and systems
- Map and perform gap analysis of business and commercial processes and requirements.
- Identify and translate business needs and best practices into detailed process and tool requirements.
- Proactively and continuously optimize the sales process, sales capabilities, and tools.
Data, Insights, KPIs and dashboarding
- Manage database quality (input and output data) and repository and ensure their integrity and governance.
- Work closely with stakeholders to identify, define, measure, and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate on the design and development of reports/dashboards and generate relevant commercial insights.
CRM Management & digitalization
- Establish and maintain governance for use of the CRM system and ensure alignment with other relevant commercial processes.
- Design and drive continuous development of the CRM system in close coordination with all key users.
- Lead setup and operational deployment of sales, marketing, and project management digitalisation initiatives.
Business planning
- Facilitate strategy & business planning in terms of method, process, tools & consolidation.
- Provide strategic viewpoints and actions to leadership team in driving changes and growth.
- Support Sales leaders in optimizing market and customer segmentation and targeting approach, building account mapping and planning, deploying analytics tools, setting incentive and award schemes.
Project Management and improvement initiatives
- Drive, coordinate, and execute commercial excellence initiatives aligned to key strategic imperatives.
- Lead efficiency and effectiveness projects in partnership with other functions to address prioritized process improvement opportunities with heavy focus on how changes impact customers and customer-facing roles.
