Context

Reporting to the Head of Accounting, Reporting & Consolidation you lead the accounting team towards end responsibility for all accounting operations and activities for the Belgian entities in order to contribute to an optimal financial management of the Bank.

Your Position

Together with your team, you ensure the following responsibilities:

- You establish and follow up income statements and balances and conduct all accounting and bookkeeping operations for the Bank and other (mainly) Belgian legal entities;
- You propose solutions for complex bank accounting treatments under IFRS and Belgian GAAP;
- You establish and maintain streamlined end-to-end general accounting processes (portfolio, fixed assets, taxes );
- You provide a solid basis for the planning and steering of operations in order to ensure that the financial accounts provide a correct reflection of the status and activities of the the entities;
- You ensure the consolidation of financial statements from the different entities of the Bank, the correct analytical parametrization of the accounting preparing for the management accounting and provide the appropriate variance analysis for the understanding of the evolutions;
- You supervise and control timely, accurate and complete annual reporting on tax returns and VAT in order to ensure compliance with tax regulations;
- You perform regular analysis and reporting on the financial situation of the legal entities in scope in order to allow them to take appropriate decisions;
- You implement and maintain the Finance Internal Control Framework ensuring appropriate controls and justification of the accounts. You are key contributor to the external Audit process;

- Coach and develop your team members in order to efficiently deploy competences, skills and know-how and to function as a harmonious and result-oriented team;
- Coordinate and organize the activities of the team in line with priorities, available resources and competences; you define and optimize procedures and workflow processes;
- Define objectives (team level as well as individual level) for and with the team in order to evaluate the team and its performance;
- Share knowledge and ensure back-up for his / her function in order to guarantee continuity of the department and its services;
- Coordinate with peers and contribute to a streamlined end-to-end process within Finance;
- Keep abreast of all evolutions in his / her domain of expertise, ensure that he / she and the team members keep abreast of all changing regulations and develop his / her level of own expertise.

Your Profile
- You hold a master degree in Finance, Economics or Engineering;
- You have experience in the financial services sector, including good knowledge of IFRS;
- You are agile and have a proven track record in guiding teams through challenging times of change and migration/transformation;
- You are a strong people manager, who can drive changes, highly committed, have the ability to take decisions with impact;
- You have an analytical and constructively critical mindset;
- It is in your nature to continuously strive towards more efficiency and superior quality;
- You have an excellent knowledge of Dutch or French with good command of English;
- You communicate constructively on your ideas and suggestions;
- You have solid interpersonal skills to gain trust, achieve business objectives and work directly with different stakeholders.
