Context
Join us at Degroof Petercam as an Accounting Intern and become part of a dynamic team at the heart of our banking operations. You’ll collaborate closely with experienced professionals across Finance, Risk, and Compliance, contributing to real-world projects that impact our clients and operations. Your position
As an Accounting Intern at Degroof Petercam, you will play a key role in supporting our Finance team with day-to-day banking operations and financial reporting. This internship offers hands-on experience in a dynamic and regulated environment, ideal for students pursuing careers in banking, finance, or accounting.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
- Support the monthly and quarterly closing processes.
- Help with the drafting of financial statements and internal reports.
- Prepare documentation for internal audits and regulatory compliance checks.
- Participate in the control and verification.
You will report directly to a Senior Accountant and work closely with professionals in Finance departments. Your contributions will help ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supporting Degroof Petercam’s commitment to excellence in private banking and asset management.
**Profile**:
Education & Background
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous internship or academic project experience in accounting or banking is a plus.
Hard Skills
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Soft Skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Availability
- Internship availability: Full-time preferred, or minimum 3-4 days per week.
