**Division PHARM & Division CHEM**
**About the role**
Reporting to the Group Chief Operating Officer of the Ardena Group, who reports to the CEO, each the Head of Division is responsible for the strategy, development, sales, services and operations of the division, and is ultimately responsible for the division's bottom-line, its P&L. The Head of Division chairs the Division Management Team.
Leadership of the division, includes oversight and coordination of the Business Units serving the division. BU activities and sites are directly managed through the respective BU Directors, who are accountable for the performance of their sites (BUs). The role also requires monitoring business units to ensure that commercial, operational, financial policies and site performance goals are being met in line with divisional strategies and group policies and procedures.
The role calls for close collaboration with the head of the other division and the Business Development Director, to explore sales synergies and to guarantee a smooth execution of services across divisions.
**Key responsibilities**
- Heading technical sales_:
- fostering and maintaining a strong relationship with customers and prospects
- mentoring and supporting the technical sales team in the sales process from enquiry to offer and deal closure
- introducing the company and its capabilities through presentations to current and future customers
- evaluating project development risks, monitoring price setting and profitability performance of projects
- analyzing the reasons for rejection of proposals and proposing actions for improving success rate.
- _Allocating new projects to match customer needs_
- evaluating capabilities, workload, quality and delivery goals to plan requirements
- allocating projects or parts of projects to business units in the division
- monitoring development programs that require resources from different business units and ensuring constructive engagement
- resolving conflicts or issues instantly and efficiently
- _Managing capacity_
- optimizing divisional capacity utilization in terms of people, equipment and facilities
- balancing current and projected workload
- deciding on priorities at times of capacity constraints
- _Divisional P&L_
- Establishing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators and taking appropriate action
- Allocating budgets to the business units and tracking performance against plan.
- Tracking expenses and approving capital expenditures
- _Relationships in support of corporate functions_
- hosting prospective customers that are introduced to the division by corporate sales and supporting the corporate sales team in responding to questions - either technical or commercial - during the acquisition process
- supporting the corporate sales team in gathering market data (customer information, competitor data, and so on).
- recommending specific marketing activity to increase brand awareness and strengthen positioning.
- ensuring that the CRM system is up to date and quality of information is up to standard
- supporting corporate sales in promoting integration and harmonization across business units and divisions.
- helping to implement corporate IT systems, procedures and policies
- supporting the corporate organization in defining the strategic direction.by analyzing market/customer needs and benchmarking competition.
- identifying new business opportunities and presenting them for approval to the Ardena leadership team
