EORTC is Europeʼs leading multidisciplinary clinical cancer research organisation whose work spans across cancers, types of treatments and national borders. Its mission is to coordinate and conduct international translational and clinical research to improve the standard of cancer treatment for patients, thereby enhancing both their survival rates and quality of life.
For over 60 years, EORTC has provided a unique platform for over 1000 hospitals and over 3800 doctors in 50 countries to collaborate on critical clinical questions. EORTC’s role is to continue improving the way cancer is being treated in the best interest of patients. It prioritises inclusivity in cancer research, advancing studies for all patients.
The EORTC Cancer Research Fund (ECRF), an independent non-profit association founded in 1976 under the honorary presidency of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, serves as the funding arm of this scientific organization with a mission to promote, encourage and support research on the treatment of cancer under the auspices of the EORTC. Since 2021, ECRF is privileged to count HRH Princess Dina Mired of Jordan as its Honorary President who succeeded HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.
**Position Overview**:
Main responsibilities / Major Activities
Fundraising
Strengthen and implement the fundraising strategy for EORTC’s Engagement & Partnerships Office, optimising existing approaches and exploring new avenues for advancement.
Identify and propose new fundraising opportunities to support EORTC’s mission.
Actively pursue and manage funding opportunities.
Write proposals and progress reports for fundraising initiatives.
Participate in relevant meetings including the ECRF Council, contributing to agendas, minutes, and reports as required.
Communications
Collaborate closely with the EORTC Communications Office and Project Management department to ensure alignment and coordination.
Assist in the development of the EORTC Engagement and Partnerships website and support materials, such as brochures.
Generate content for mailings and other communication tasks, ensuring timely follow-up.
Project management
Provide tailored support to corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs and partners.
Maintain updates on EORTC projects requiring funding.
Ensure timely communication with donors, keeping them informed about EORTC activities and priorities.
Manage the EORTC/ECRF donors database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
Assist in organizing fundraising events and galas.
Profile
Bachelor’s degree in business management, communications, marketing, international relations, social sciences or relevant field.
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience; preferably in fundraising.
Excellent written & oral communications skills.
Strong planning, organisation and time management skills.
Ability to sustain interpersonal and professional relationships.
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
Fluency in English is required and knowledge of French is desirable.
Ability to travel as needed.
