**Skills, knowledge, experience required**:

- 3 years’ practical experience in managing change request from initiation to closure while engaging with relevant process owners and stakeholders;
- Experience in leading small teams;
- ITIL Foundation certification.

**Desirable**:

- Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements;
- Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT.

**Duties/role**:

- Leading and directing the development of Configuration & Change Management (CM2) policies, standards, and guidelines for strategy development and planning;
- Developing and communicating plans to drive forward the CM2 strategy;
- Communicating to stakeholders the CM2 strategic intent, approach, and roadmap;
- Providing support and direction to all stakeholders ensuring adherence to the CM2 strategy;
- Collecting, aggregating, and transforming data into reports and insights to make informed decisions to support the execution of strategic plans;
- Supporting monitoring of the external IT environment and assessment of emerging technologies;
- Contributing to the creation of reports, technology road mapping, and the sharing of knowledge and insights;
- Defining and managing scoping, requirements definition, and prioritisation activities for initiatives of medium size and complexity;
- Contributing to selecting the requirements approach;
- Facilitating input from stakeholders, providing constructive challenge, and enabling effective prioritisation of requirements;
- Establishing requirements baselines, obtaining formal agreement to requirements, and ensuring traceability to source;
- Leading and directing Configuration Management projects and activities ensuring the correct governance mechanisms and reporting is in place;
- Being responsible for the common data model essential for the discovery and management of configuration items (CIs) that are uniquely identified with naming conventions;
- Putting in place operational processes for secure configuration, classification, and management of CIs, and for verifying and auditing configuration records;
- Developing, configuring, and maintaining tools (including automation) to identify, track, log, and maintain accurate, complete, and current configuration management information;
- Reporting on the status of configuration management;
- Identifying problems and issues and recommending corrective actions;
- Leading the team responsible for the assessment, analysis, development, documentation, and implementation of changes;
- Leading the developments of implementation plans for complex requests for change;
- Reviewing proposed implementations and evaluating the risks to the integrity of the product and service environment;
- Ensuring appropriate change approval is applied to changes;
- Reviewing the effectiveness of change implementation;
- Identifying, evaluating, and managing the adoption of appropriate tools, techniques, and processes for change control;
- Analysing and presenting the pros and cons of potential risks to IT service changes;
- Designing approaches and templates for the implementation and review of IT service changes;
- Directing and monitoring the implementation of IT service changes and procedures;
- Determining methods and processes for IT service changes;
- Comparing change impact assessing approaches with other industry professionals or organizations;
- Evaluating the effectiveness of change management through professional group discussions;
- Clarifying the similarities and differences among life cycles, easily labeling and describing each phase;
- Describing associated standards, procedures, and guidelines for the system development life cycle;
- Highlighting the major phases, activities, checkpoints, and deliverables in the system life cycle.
