We are looking for an **Operational Excellence Coordinator** who is **Customer and results oriented**, analytical to join us in our **Braine Technical Operations - P**rogram management Office and Operational excellence** **(BTO - PMO & OE)** team, based in our **UCB Campus** office in **Braine-l’Alleud, Walloon Brabant, Belgium**
**About the role**
The job covers two main roles, transversally across Braine Technical Operations organization (BTO):
- You lead the operational excellence deployment
- You are responsible for improving operational performance through the use of Lean 6 Sigma (principles, practices, and techniques)
- You deploy the Operational Excellence model and culture which consists in preparing the future by reaching the operational goals defined by the hierarchy and the functional services in the scope of the vision and the missions of Operational Excellence set out by the company.
- You are an Operations Excellence Business Process Management contributor: You assist the BTO OE community to develop, implement and improve BTO OE business processes towards Excellence, in alignment with business requirements.
The position contains accountabilities in the following fields: Safety and Green, Quality & Compliance, Operational Excellence, Business Process Management.
**Who you’ll work with**
Each Operational Excellence Coordinator is assigned to one or several departments within Braine Technical Operations as Single Point of Contact. However, they work as a team of experts and may be assigned to tasks in any department.

**What you’ll do**
- You comply to Safety rules, mindset and culture
- You stimulate co-workers and support relevant initiatives within BTO, aiming at working in a safer and greener environment
- You comply to UCB Policies and Procedures, in line with Patient Value Strategy and Principles
- You identify, collect and monitor all compliance and business risks; interact with QA to score it and implement an action plan, when justified
- You maintain frequently the quality (accuracy, up-to-date) of the data and information in UCB OE Information Management Systems (BSC, sharepoints,) to track OE activities and KPI’s
- You deploy Strategic Alignment within BTO departments using Hoshin Kanri
- You assist the BTO department heads in setting and managing their Balanced Score Card (BSC)
- You collect Improvement Ideas from every BTO employees in order to continuously feed and manage the Smarter Ways (SW) process (including SW budgeting, SW follow-up, SW valorization, SW reward and recognition, Global Smarter Ways Contest, improvement ideas)
- You support BTO teams to reach their objectives and strategic goals through Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, OEE, and any Lean 6 Sigma tool or technique.
- You manage, lead and be responsible for multiple assigned BTO OE initiatives in full respect of governance, budget and timelines.
- You develop and maintain a challenging but realistic OE Roadmap at department level in collaboration with the department head, taking into consideration priorities, resources and budgets
- You ensure Performance Management is properly executed through:
- cascaded Key Performance or Behavioral Indicators (KPI / KBI),
- Performance Management Review meetings at the appropriate frequency and with corrective actions
- Tier meetings
- You develop, organize and maintain a BTO 5S community and delegate 5S management to the community, while keeping accountability in reaching 5S objectives agreed with the department head (5S roadmap)
- You train, coach and develop all BTO employees on Operational Excellence tools, processes and culture (including Yellow Belt trainings (YB)) in order to make each department capable in the pursuit of Excellence
- You are present on the shopfloor (Gemba). You practice and promote Gemba Walks.
- You motivate, coach and help and recognize employees regarding Operational Excellence
- You communicate on the results obtained making actors and results visible for BTO and, when appropriate outside of BTO (S&TS Newsletter, BTO screen, Yammer, etc )
- You contribute to improve continually OE activities governance, tools, process (feedback culture, digitalization transformation, lessons learned,)
- You contribute actively to the OE community to grow OE competencies and culture within BTO
**Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills**
- You hold a Master’s degree
- Technical experience: up to 5 years
- At least 3 years of experience in Lean management
- Expertise in Lean Management
- Basic level of 6 Sigma (a Green Belt certification is a plus): DMAIC, statistics, Minitab, Statistical Process Control
