Large and Strategic Capex Projects Lead

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic lead for Large and Strategic CAPEX Projects (to oversee a significant capital expenditure over €50m), who has exceptional leadership, is collaborative, strong communicator and a real problem solver to join us in our Large Capex Project group in our Transformational Programs & Infrastructure team, based in our campus in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.

**About the role**

The Large Capital Projects Delivery department is ensuring end-to-end execution of Engineering projects, from concept design to operational handover, and delivering all investment projects above €50m budget related to manufacturing, development, research, infrastructures, and site activities for all UCB stakeholders.

Specialized in managing and allocating significant financial resources to high-value projects, he is fostering cost control, risk, schedule control and project excellence expertise to guarantee performance and optimize investment outcomes.

**Who you’ll work with**

This position entails an effective collaboration with internal & external partners, contractors, and suppliers.

**What you’ll do**
- You are responsible for overseeing and managing end-to-end large-scale capital investment projects from inception to completion.
- You ensure that large capex project is delivered on time, within scope and oversee compliance with GMP operations and regulatory strategies.
- You coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, construction management, verification, operations
- You work closely with stakeholders to align project goals with the company’s strategic objectives.
- You report to head of large capital investment leader with a dotted line to the Project Sponsor.
- You have the overall accountability to take the best decision during the project phase, are the primary interface between the business and the project and are responsible for managing the business change and benefits realization activities required by the business to ensure the best possible return for the investment from conceptual up to the first product/asset launch.
- You are accountable for translating the project early feasibility study into reality to decide any improvement of the project delivery.

- You have minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role.
- You possess strong understanding of capital expenditures engineering principles, in a pharma environments and practices relevant to manufacturing, development, and infrastructure projects.
- You show an expertise in managing large-scale capital investment projects from conceptual design to completion.
- You show proficiency in managing and allocating significant financial resources, ensuring cost control and optimizing investment outcomes, in risk management and in schedule control.
- You can lead and coordinate cross-functional teams effectively and possess strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external partners (in French and English).
