**Brussels Headquarters**

The office building in Brussels (Machelen) houses ExxonMobil's regional headquarters for Europe,
Middle East and Africa (EMEAf) and the European Technology Centre for research and development.

**What role you will play in our team**:
The Customer Application Development professional provides technical leadership and defines priorities from a technical standpoint for business growth. This individual
customer related technical development as needed for each Business Unit's Product Families.

The Customer Application Development professional provides technical leadership and defines priorities from a technical standpoint, to include:

- Technical support and solutions to identify, develop and commercialize pipeline opportunities by articulating values of performance products.
- Preparation and delivery of papers in conferences, trainings, seminars, expert visits
- Contributing and/or leading one or more involved innovaiton programs
- Providing technical expertise to other less experienced colleagues - mentoring and coaching
- Innovative problem solving
- Developing in-depth technical packages to support initiative

Technical Excellence:

- Identifies/champions programs, driving fundamental approach to support new business opportunities through new technologies development.

Knowledge Transfer and Wisdom Sharing:

- Mentors early career technical professionals
- Identifies and champions capture of new business opportunities through a combination of developing new technologies, adapting existing technologies in a novel way,
- Provides technical guidance, defines priorities, and supports programs within Products Technology
- Identifies synergies and technology trends while building technical insites to monitor industry trends

Develops appropriate solutions to ensure maximum value capture (ViU Focus) of the new developments in close collaboration with Sales and Marketing.

- Provides guidance to early career professionals.
- Visits customers, OEMs, vlaue-chain partners, and conducts trials / expert visits.
- Presents in national and international conferences/tradeshows

Advises on IP matters (patent drafting, reading, searching) and supporting FTO activities.
Handles major customer issues affecting single key customers or multiple customers and provide manufacturing support (members of QRTs)

**About you - Skills and Qualifications**:
Qualifications: BS / MS / PhD. or equivalent. PhD preferred.

At least 10yrs of hands-on work experience proficiency with:
- Elastomers, particularly EPDM elastomers with hands-on experince in formulaiton, mixing and conversion for Weather seals, Sponge, TPVs, Industrial (e.g. hose) and Wire

& Cable applicaitons. EPDM product development and manufacturing experince a plus.
- Hands-on Application & Conversion Expertise including Molding (e.g. Injection Molding, Compression molding, Roto molding, Blow molding etc.) and Compounding

(including extrusion, two-roll mill, Banbury, Brabender etc.).
Fundamental Functional Skills in Polymers Product Structure-Property Relationships (both Elastomers and Polyolefins), Data Quality Assurance Principles, Product Testing
and Test Method Development.
Demonstrated Interpersonal Skills, Internal Collaboration (e.g. different functions including slaes, marketing, operations) and External Collaboraiton (e.g. customers, OEMs,
brand owners) skills, Innovation Mindset with Customers and Vlaue-Chain Partners, Coaching and Mentoring skills.

**Preferred Qualifications/ Experience**

Work experience proficiency in more than one area:

- Automotive Application & Conversion Expertise with EPDM Elastomes and Polyolefin Elastomers
- Molding and Compounding Application & Conversion Expertise with EPDM Elastomes and Polyolefin Elastomers
- Extrusion theory and shapin
