Manager Health Technology Assessment

**Key areas of responsibility**
- **The primary area of responsibility will be in following and influencing the implementation of the Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Regulation in the field of medical devices.** In principle, HTA serves to provide a framework for the evaluation of medical technologies with a view to adopting them in various healthcare settings.
- **Additional responsibilities will include supporting special projects - **this will include a diverse set of projects within the medical technologies field and across the organisation.
- **Members Management** - MedTech Europe´s membership includes both manufacturers of medical technologies and national associations working in the medical technology sector across Europe. These members provide experts, experience and support to our work in the field of HTA and need to be informed and coordinated in their actions.
- **Liaison with EU institutions** - as with all European Regulations effective implementation requires working with EU institutions as a partner to ensure a smooth transition and implementation into the new HTA regulations.
- **Coordination within the MedTech Europe team** - work within MedTech Europe is highly collaborative and even though there is a strong focus in this position on one topic, it is important and expected that members of other teams who will be impacted be kept appraise of developments in the HTA field, but also that some effort is made to understand the work and area of activity of other colleagues in MedTech Europe.

- **Communication - **This is going to be the key to success in this position. Being able to bridge the gap between technical and policy communication, talking both to industry and policy makers and being able to communicate in a manner that is both effective and efficient will be the basis of day to day work.
- **Project management - **Planning and executing various projects - meeting organisation, preparation of various documents and working with other team members to meet common goals.
- **Group management - **Being able to interact with and effectively work with our groups of HTA experts and some of our special projects to achieve a consistent and consensus positions.
- **Collaborating - **You won´t work alone - being able to collaborate with the rest of the MedTech Europe team will in order to meet common goals will be a plus. Multiple projects will provide opportunities to work with different teams across the organisation.

**How you develop**
- **Experience with Industry - **Extensive exposure to the Medical Technology industry will increase both your knowledge of the field and your contacts within it.
- **Expert knowledge - **Develop expert knowledge in the field of Health Technology Assessment - a process that is looking to take off with the implementation of the next regulation.
- **Healthcare system decision making processes - **Understand how decisions are made within healthcare systems and how HTA helps to inform them or fails to do so will lead to valuable insights into how the health system works.
- **Autonomous growth - **Over time, the autonomy and ability to work independently with mínimal supervision will be developed, with increasing competence, knowledge and confidence, all of which MedTech Europe seeks to foster.

**Skills and qualifications which we are looking for**
- **Group operation** - being able to work with a group of experts ensuring timely delivery of meeting invitations, agendas, minutes and all related activities.
- **Relationship building** - ability to build professional relationships with EU institutions in order to effectively put forward MedTech Europe positions.
- **Consensus building** - capacity to help guide discussions to a timely consensus and effective decision making.
- **Presentation** - proficiency in presenting policy and healthcare related questions, to diverse audiences ranging from industry to EU institutions, with and without visual supports.
- **Organisation** - keep things moving, keep them organised and drive towards goals and results.

**Qualifications**
- Excellent knowledge of English (Working language for MedTech Europe)
- Master, in a field pertinent to HTA. Health economics is ideal but other degrees related to healthcare, science or data management are welcome.
- Three to five years of professional experience working in EU affairs, healthcare procurement or related fields - experience in actual HTA and in the medical devices field is a plus
- Understanding of the functioning of the EU and its policy making process
- Fluency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and proficiency in other IT tools, such as Teams, Zoom, Webex, One Note etc.
- Eligible to work in Belgium
