He will join a team - the FinOps Downstream team - composed of three Business Controllers located in Brussels, covering Belgium and the Netherlands, and four other Business Controllers in Paris, covering France. Within the Finance Division, the Finance and Operations (FinOps) “Downstream” team has the responsibility to monitor the P&L of the “Downstream” Business Platform - part of GEMS business entity - and ensures a correct reporting (IFRS and local GAAP) of its end-of-month results. The Downstream Business Platform guarantees the physical sourcing in gas, electricity and certificates of ENGIE’s supply entities, BtC and BtB. The opened position encompasses two roles: - A role of “Middle-Officer”, focusing on the monitoring of the Front-Office generated PnL and Cash Flows - A role of “Business Controller”, focusing and on the monthly financial closures and budget exercises In a first place, the controller will mainly focus on the **Guarantees of Origin** and **Green Certificates** traded in the Netherlands and in Belgium but other scopes (Gas & Power) will also need to be covered in a second step. **Role**: You will be involved in **P&L monitoring** of the BP Downstream: - Follow and validate on a daily basis the economic P&L of your scope by close collaboration with Front Office, analyzing and reporting on the variation of the P&L, detecting deviations in the evolution of the results; - Ensure that the reported results are compliant with accounting principles; - Recurrent exchanges with Front Office teams to ensure a sound understanding of portfolio structures, modelized assets, and implemented strategies (asset management, hedges ); - Support the deals’ management throughout their lifecycle: discuss deal validation rules, follow invoicing issues in close collaboration with Back-Office. **Monthly closing of accounts**: - Control of postings sent to SAP by accounting teams; - Control of certificates in - and out-flows based on registry data; - Valuation of certificates for stock accounting; - Control of consistency between economic P&L and accounting P&L: building of economic-accounting bridge and investigation of unexplained deltas. Preparation of **Monthly Business Reviews**: - Provide timely, accurate, validated and relevant information and business reporting; - Analysis of YTD results and Best Estimates through several Key Financial Indicators (S-P, Cash Flows, WCR) with the contribution of Front-Office. **Mid-Term Plan process conduction**: validation of business assumptions with supply entities and Downstream Front Office. **Digitalization and change management**: - Support the BP Downstream’s migration into GEMS’ new commodity management software “Orchestrade”; - Test and provide feedback and the newly implemented tools (such as a new invoicing software) amongst the FinOps community; - Propose enhancement of process and automation of tools where relevant. To fulfill your missions, you will work in close collaboration with Front-Office teams and have regular contacts with Back-Office, Accountings, and Risk teams. You will notably have to: - Handle accounting topics relating to products used for market finance such as hedges, options etc; - Understand the energy supply chain, of both gas and powe
