Role Overview

The Essentials Cluster Product Stewardship team belongs to the Industrial Function and interacts closely with multiple functions providing regulatory expertise and guidance to the businesses and to R&I.

We have an exciting opportunity available in the Product Stewardship Team in the Solutions Cluster for someone to lead the regulatory strategy and compliance activities for the Soda Ash & Derivatives (SA&D) GBU. The Global Product Stewardship is responsible for advising, steering and implementing product stewardship regulatory strategy for the SA&D GBU. It will involve working closely with GBU market leaders and innovation managers to plan and deliver the regulatory needs associated with the SA&D product portfolio and innovation pipeline, providing timely customer support on regulatory questions.

This position reports to the Essentials Cluster manager.

**The responsibilities include**:

- Manage Product Stewardship activities, providing a single point of contact between the Product Stewardship Cluster and the GBU as well as other experts (Tox & Ecotox Risk Assessment, Legal, etc.).
- Complete regulatory assessments for new and existing products in the portfolio, to enable products to be marketed to required regulatory and safety standards.
- Assess and manage the risks of products throughout their lifecycle as an integral part of overall business strategy.
- Work closely with marketing & R&I teams to provide regulatory input into innovation and market growth projects.
- Represent Solvay in REACH and REACH like consortia meetings (often in the position of consortium chairman) ensuring worldwide consistency in the studies and dossiers presented for the same substance.
- Oversee and manage the global registration strategy, timelines and budgets for new and existing products in the portfolio.
- Monitor and alert the management team to emerging global regulations that may impact the portfolio. Works closely with the management team to develop regulatory strategy plans to adapt and address emerging global regulations.
- Provide training to the GBU on regulatory matters.
- Represent Product Stewardship in meetings with GBU when required for communicating around regulatory topics.
- Can support other activities within the cluster.

**Education and experience**
- Master degree, preferably in Science or engineering area
- Minimum of 3 year chemical industry experience with majority in product safety or regulatory affairs role.

**Skills and languages**
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Good knowledge of chemistry is essential.
- Background in regulatory affairs is a plus
- Knowledge of SAP IT system is a plus
