About the role:
The IT ERP team is responsible for the ERP systems globally. The ERP systems are used company-wide by over 5.000 employees, and represent the transactional backbone. In case of standstill/critical incident, the impact of UCB key business processes such as manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, finance, and procurement would be very high.

The IT ERP team defines the ERP strategy to be applied at UCB in terms of technology based on future needs, delivery of services and projects to fulfill business and IT requirements, and resources.

Some functional aspects of the job fall under GxP regulations (e.g. Manufacturing), while others need to follow financial rules and guidelines (e.g. Finance & Purchasing).

The IT ERP team is supported by technical experts in charge of providing transverse services to the vertical IT Functional Domains (i.e. IT Finance & Purchasing, IT Global Supply Chain, and IT Manufacturing & Labs).

The solutions enable business stakeholders to function and execute efficiently harmonized ERP processes, create and use data in a secure and compliant manner in the integrated and transversal UCB business units.

One of our main goals is to achieve operational efficiency through the design of global IT solutions. Another main objective is to ensure that the local / country requirements are implemented on time to ensure that UCB is fully compliant with the legal requirements coming from the authorities.

Who you’ll work with:
You will be considered as the linking pin between our business stakeholders and the rest of the IT ERP team. As such, you will be translating business needs into IT language, ensuring the right level of understanding prior to leading successful implementations. As IT ERP Solution Expert, you will be leading your own offshore support team, and ensuring a high level of collaboration between both functional and technical counterparts.

What you’ll do:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Finance/Controlling/Tax Expertise:
Lead FI/CO/TAX processes, establishing yourself as the primary point of contact and expert in this domain.

Evaluate business needs, ensuring smooth integration of global authorizations within the existing IT infrastructure.

Advise IT leadership on FI/CO/TAX-related matters.

Periodically review and optimize ERP FI/CO/TAX plans and documents.

Drive and oversee FI/CO/TAX automation efforts, focusing on financial efficiency and best practices.

Maintain an up-to-date understanding of FI/CO/TAX processes, architectures, and advancements.

Streamline processes, championing innovation and efficient system utilization.

Commit to continuous learning, ensuring alignment with the latest ERP technologies and sharing insights within the team.

2. RUN Activities Oversight:
Deliver FI/CO/TAX training for team members.

Implement monitoring tools to ensure optimal ERP performance.

3. Leadership in Finance/Controlling/Tax Support:
Collaborate with the RUN team, ensuring alignment with UCB's standards and procedures.

4. Project Management in Finance/Controlling/Tax Domain:
Guide project teams, emphasizing adherence to UCB standards.

Support functional teams in understanding business needs from a FI/CO/TAX perspective.

Direct technical aspects of projects, ensuring uninterrupted ERP system access for end-users.

Review and approve proposed system changes, ensuring they align with business objectives.

5. Technical Project Support:
Evaluate project feasibility and provide detailed FI/CO/TAX specifications during the architecture phase.

Offer a blend of technical and functional expertise, leveraging UCB's process knowledge.

6. SME Role during Audits/Inspections:
Serve as the primary SME for FI/CO/TAX during both external and internal audits and inspections.

7. ERP System Landscape Management:
Shape the FI/CO/TAX concepts across the ERP landscape.

Develop and refine SOPs, detailing policies and guidance for operational tasks.

8. Future Planning for Finance/Controlling/Tax:
Stay updated with the latest SAP developments, disseminating knowledge internally.

Aid in realizing the overarching IT strategy, always eyeing opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Interested? For this role, we're looking for the following education, experience, and skills:
Mandatory Expertise:

- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Deep knowledge in Finance, Controlling, and Tax (each with a minimum of 8 years' experience).
- Proficiency in SAP ECC 6.0 and SAP S/4HANA.
- Experience in project and service management.
- A strong background in regulated processes with a focus on computing.
- Leadership experience, preferably in managing onshore/offshore teams.
