Context

The Compliance CMP Officer supports the Compliance CMP Manager in defining and executing controls in the framework of the Compliance Monitoring Plan of BDP Belgium and in coordinating, supporting and following the set-up of a CMP Plan and Program in the different local entities of BDP.

The Compliance CMP Officer is evaluated by the Group Compliance CMP Manager.

Your Position

The Compliance CMP Officer performs the following tasks:
1. Ensures:

- that each control is performed on basis of the defined working instruction describing the monitoring and controls to be performed;
- the performance of the monitoring and controls allocated to him/her with the appropriate level of detail and documentation and in the expected time frame;
- appropriate communication and interaction with first line of defense businesses and internal control departments on findings and proposed measures (observations and recommendations) in close concertation with the Compliance Domain Experts;
- the sending of the subsequent final written reports to the concerned business lines(s) for approval, after confirmation by the Group Compliance CMP Manger that the reports are ready to be sent;
- the follow-up of the observations and recommendations, their documentation and the closing of the recommendations;
- compliance with Degroof Petercam Group CMP methodology in performing all his/her daily tasks;
- immediate update of all the files documenting the progress of the creation and update of the working instructions, the performed controls and of the follow-up of the recommendations with the concerned business line(s);
- the testing required in the set-up and follow-up of IT changes and developments;

2. Supports the Group Compliance CMP Manager in:

- determining the plan of control for the upcoming year in a CMP Plan and a CMP Program and in adapting the CMP Plan and Program during the year, if required;
- identifying and reporting them on weaknesses identified and actual or potential exposures related to different Compliance domains such as AML, MiFID and Market Abuse;
- providing input to the Group Compliance CMP Manager for the recurrent Compliance Risk Assessment in order to identify new risks to which Group DP is exposed;
- defining the policies, procedures and working instructions relating to the CMP activities, group wide;
- providing input to other Compliance Experts for the development or review of policies and procedures, with a focus on the controls related to the covered processes and activities;
- ensuring that the Group policies are implemented in all the Group entities;
- communicating and interacting with first line of defense businesses and internal control departments on findings and proposed measures (observations and recommendations) in close concertation with the Compliance Domain Experts;
- supervising the follow-up of the observations and recommendations, their documentation and the closing of the recommendations;
- participating to the update and implementation of Degroof Petercam Group CMP methodology and 2LOD controls (among which CMP controls) in Belgium and steers, provides support and monitors their implementation in the different local entities;
- providing reporting to the Group CCO (dashboards) on the CMP activities and controls results;
- participating to the set-up and follow-up of IT changes and developments which concerns the CMP Unit.

Your Profile
- A relevant master’s degree such as in Laws, in Economics or in Business/management;
- An experience of at least 2 years in a control function in the financial sector;
- A strong understanding of regulatory and legal frameworks, including Compliance and Operational Risk Management control and governance;
- Quickly integrates new concepts, procedures and changes in the organization and its structure and is able to adapt his/her own organization and methodologies consequently.
- Clear communication to Group Compliance CMP Manager on the controls he/she performs and their progress;
- Strong organization, planning and prioritizing skills to execute the planned controls;
- Excellent eye for detail with heavy focus on accuracy and delivery;
- Strong ability to work under pressure and use own initiative to reach control objectives;
- Strong analytical, written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
- Strong report writing skills;
- Excellent reactive capacities and solving problems capacities;
- Work autonomously and independently. Consults the Group Compliance CMP Manager in performing his/her tasks;
- Strong capacity to work in team and to cooperate with other departments.
