For the expansion & commercialization of our stainless steel cow enterprise, Those Vegan Cowboys are on the lookout for a razor sharp individual to take animal-free cheese to the next level. Building an entirely new part of our company, you will make dairy history.

**CMO (Chief Manufacturing Officer)**

As the chief responsible for the actual production of Margaret’s cheese, you’re not only an experienced executive leader, you also really like to build things. Because you’ll be doing a lot of it: some huge stable building plans are awaiting your sharp intellect and carpenter’s eye.

You will hit the ground running to help us acquire our cheese factory, first on a tolling (say, rental) basis, but eventually you’ll be building our own. Possibly in partnership with fellow companies in the precision fermentation bizz. You’re good with people and ideally have experience in the biotech start-up/scale-up scene.

**Job description**
- You’ll be part of the management team of Those Vegan Cowboys. You will:

- Develop and implement manufacturing strategy
- Foster collaboration among internal departments and align with external production
- Coordinate of LCA work
- Lead manufacturing related activities:

- Production of regulatory batches
- Develop partnering options
- Tolling production & planning
- Engineering activities (from conceptual to plant)
- Site selection

**Your profile**
- Minimum of 10 years active in biotech R&D - Manufacturing, preferably in precision fermentation
- Proficient understanding of manufacturing costs and ability to identify improvements
- Experience in scaling novel fermentation processes from lab to greenfield/brownfield operation
- Knowledge of the dairy/cheese industry is a big plus
- Analytical mindset combined with willingness to roll up your sleeves
- Strong team player with good communication skills
- Capable of building valuable relationships
- Expected to (partly) work on site in Ghent, Belgium
- Willing to go on travel adventures for work
