Lead UX Designer

**What You'll Do**:
As a Lead UX Designer you will represent the UX Team to the Billtrust community and our customers, and lead our team's product designs and user research efforts. You will lead a team and oversee other designers' work. A Lead UX Designer is proficient at identifying and framing customer problems and opportunities effectively and can clearly explain how your team's objectives relate to the company vision, and can talk fluently about how your design work directly contributes to both. You will lead the design of large projects from opportunity to implementation, making use of customer insight and product data. As well as, develop working relationships with colleagues from across the business, and actively look to mentor others and contribute to the wider design community. You will have a mastery of the Billtrust design process, knowing when to adhere to it and when to flex to a specific project.
- Lead and manage User Experience design for Billtrust SaaS platform
- Partner with products stakeholders to understand user needs for BT products line
- Create high fidelity prototypes that effectively illustrate visual design
- Provide thought leadership and drive execution in building a best-in-class user experience for our product portfolio
- Produce user interface (UI) design concepts for new and existing functionality for our billing & payment product sets
- Draft, implement and standardize Billtrust UX design templates, standards and best practices
- Monitor industry design trends and incorporate findings into new design concepts
- Evolve our design system
- Act as the user-advocate during the development process, present early-stage designs for testing, and offer implementation suggestions from a user-centered perspective

**What You'll Bring to the Team**:

- 5+ years of UX/UI Design Experience
- Experience with, design systems, UI kits, frontend frameworks
- Demonstrated experience with both web and mobile platform design
- Experience working in a highly collaborative agile development environment
- Experience leading a full UX design process including creating user personas, journey maps, wireframes, visual designs, prototypes, and hand off to developers
- Proven success in creating and enhancing user experience for online products
- Solid understanding of information architecture, user testing and producing design concepts
- Passion for staying abreast of UX/UI industry trends and an eye towards continuous improvement
- Strong ability to leverage current web technologies, such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Demonstrated proficiency of the Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools
- Ability to work in an agile environment and experience with Jira
- Demonstrated proficiency in prototyping by using Figma, XD, Axure and other prototyping tools
- Ability to construct mobile, adaptive and responsive UX strategy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated, highly-organized and able to partner with cross-functional teams
- Experience in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), payments or related business a plus
- Bachelor degree in design, visual arts (or related field) or equivalent experience

Design:

- Create and explain a well thought out multi-step and cross-platform flows.
- Relevant experience including: Wireframing, Userflow Creation, Content Creation, Prototyping
- Strong understanding of the best tools can concepts to use for an assignment.
- Mastery in sketching and wireframing of complex features and user journeys.
- Fluent in designing for potential states (errors, successes, dead-ends).
- Train and nurture junior designers in UX best practices

Research:

- Clearly explain how research influenced your design and teach others.
- Mastery in conducting user research and usability testing.
- Fluent in the collection and use of qualitative and quantitative data.

Collaboration:

- Communicate clearly and effectively with project teams in all stages of design and development
- Be responsible for meeting tight deadlines and ensuring consistent quality
- Ability to identify problems or inefficiencies, propose solutions, & drive validated improvements.
- Demonstrate your passion for interaction design & learning about users' and their problems and share that passion with your team members.
- Proactively seek feedback from the UX Team or SME on your work when it's useful.
- Steps up to lead projects outside typical UX domain
- Concerned with the integration of Billtrust business strategy with the goals of UX
