Our Brussels office brings together 65 team members from 10 different countries.
**_Bird & Bird's firmly established corporate practice is looking to recruit an associate with 2 to 4 years of experience in Brussels._**
- About the team_
Our Brussels-based corporate team advises on all forms of corporate transactions, structures, issues and disputes, both within Belgium and internationally. This not only includes mergers & acquisitions, but also private equity and venture capital investments, joint ventures, capital markets transactions, as well as establishing, changing, restructuring and winding-up companies and all aspects of their functioning.
Our team represents a variety of clients, from SMEs to large multinationals. As a result, we regularly advise on complex multi-jurisdictional matters. Our corporate team regularly work with colleagues around the world to advise clients on all international aspects.
This practice has grown significantly over the last few years, and we are looking to recruit a dynamic associate, with some initial experience and mainly interested in working and further developing that part of our practice.
How will you make your mark?
By providing advice and assistance in the core areas of the practice:
- Contracts (acquisition agreements, investment agreements, shareholders' agreements, joint venture agreements,);
- Corporate structures (restructuring, mergers, divisions, transfer of activities,);
- Corporate risks (liabilities, conflicts of interests, insolvency,);
- Litigation and arbitration in respect of the above;
- As well as commercial transactions (optional).
You can count on the firm's support to:
- Provide legal services to a variety of domestic and international, large and smaller clients through challenging, cutting-edge work ;
- Have direct client contact from day one;
- Work with experienced professionals who are true experts in their field and be encouraged to further develop your legal, business and interpersonal skills through continuous training and mentoring;
- Be actively involved in marketing and business development initiatives in a truly international firm;
- Develop an in-depth understanding of Bird & Bird's key sectors, mainly in high-tech and regulated industries;
How to get your foot in the door
We are open to an associate who has a first experience as a junior associate to someone with up to 4 years of relevant experience. To make it to the interview stage, we are looking for someone with:
An excellent command of English and Dutch and a very good command of French;
- A strong academic background in Belgium, additional studies abroad are an asset;
- Strong analytical, reasoning and writing skills;
- Committed to delivering high-quality work; and
- A good team player, fitting in well with our open, entrepreneurial culture.
