We develop technologies and produce materials for high-performance solar cells used in satellites, rechargeable batteries, LED applications, catalysts... Through recycling, we recover valuable metals from laptops, mobile phones, and other devices. Department description and responsibilitiesThe Precious Metals Refining (PMR) department produces solutions based on base and precious metals. At our Hoboken site, we are investing heavily to meet changing processes and legislation.
Our Technology department, with its enthusiastic employees, is the driving force behind these projects. We support various production departments with technical advice and follow the full cycle of these projects—from feasibility, through design and implementation, to commissioning. Project descriptionAs Project Manager, you will manage the projects assigned to you from A to Z. This will be a combination of larger and smaller projects, including both new initiatives and expansions.
Primary Tasks and responsibilitiesManage the scope, budget, timeline, and quality of projects from A to ZCoordinate engineering (basic and detailed), execution, and commissioningResponsible for project layout, determining process parameters in consultation with production and R&D colleagues, providing input for P&IDs and designManaging and monitoring the process-related part within their projectsFocus on safety, ergonomics, automation, maintenance, and energy efficiencyCollaborate with the purchasing department for components and servicesCoordinate multidisciplinary teams (internal and external)Communicate with internal stakeholdersCoordinate site and executionOrganise the commissioning phaseTechnical profile requirementsMaster's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, or metallurgical) or equivalent through experienceMinimum degree: industrial engineerMinimum 10 years of experience as an end-to-end Project Manager in multi-disciplinary projects or within one of the aforementioned disciplinesRelevant experience in the sector, preferably in chemistry/metallurgy/machine constructionMinimum 5 years of experience as a (Project) Engineer within one of the aforementioned disciplinesAbility to read and draw P&ID'sStrong technical insight = absolute minimum requirementNon-Technical profile requirementsPositive attitude and team-orientedSense of responsibility and initiativeHands-on mentality and safety awarenessStrong communication skillsProficiency in Dutch is requiredMethodology/Certification requirementsVCA VOLCertification as project manager is a strong added valueLanguage proficienciesDutch: fluentOther languages are a plusLocationUmicore Hoboken100% onsite presence requiredContractStart ASAP, notice period is acceptableLong-term collaboration plannedSkillsBackground as (project) engineer - 5 YearsCan read & understand P&ID's - YesErvaring E2E project manager - 10 YearsUpload the Additional Questionnaire for each candidate
