Wilson Sonsini seeks a Business Development Manager to support marketing and business development for its regulatory practices across Europe and Asia, working in close coordination with U.
S.-based business development and practice teams. The firm's regulatory practices span data, privacy and cybersecurity; antitrust and competition; consumer protection; international trade, CFIUS, export controls, national security; and healthcare regulatory matters, advising clients across the United States, Europe, and Asia. The position's core function is to provide essential tactical support and help drive client growth, enhance market visibility, and support strategic initiatives for the non-US based regulatory lawyers. Responsibilities Include: At the direction of the Director of Business Development Manager, Regulatory: Business Development Strategy
• Develop and implement business development initiatives for the regulatory practices in Europe and Asia, coordinating with U.
S. teams across offices and time zones to ensure a unified, cross-border approach, align strategies, measure targeting progress, and exploit business development opportunities.
• Conduct research on existing and prospective clients, competitor activity, and market and regulatory trends across European and Asian jurisdictions to inform business development strategy. Apply AI tools to accelerate client and market intelligence, including company profiles, relationship mapping, and sector-specific regulatory briefings, while verifying accuracy before use. Marketing & Pitch Support
• Support on the creation of targeted marketing materials, presentations, and thought leadership content, using AI-assisted drafting tools to generate on-brand, precedent-based first drafts.
• Assist with the preparation and delivery of customized pitches and proposals for prospective clients and support the Business Development team's pitch tracking and reporting activities.
• Collaborate with regulatory and other BD team members to maintain experience credentials, matter lists, and pitch content, optimizing use of firm technology and knowledge systems; and support directory and award submissions, including Chambers and other relevant rankings. Events & Relationship Management
• Participate in the successful production and execution of private label events, speaking engagements, and sponsorships in the respective regions, including analyzing attendee lists, preparing tailored materials, supporting attorney follow-up, and tracking outcomes and activities in the CRM system. Build and maintain relationships with appropriate organizations and vendors to maximize engagement and client development efforts.
• Drive tactics and programs that raise the regulatory practices' internal and external visibility and positioning in key markets through events, sponsorships, PR, and social media, applying generative engine optimization considerations for firm content, in coordination with digital marketing and communications teams. AI Governance & Process Development
• Develop, document, and share practical guidance and repeatable processes for responsible AI use within the department, consistent with firm policy and applicable professional responsibility standards, including data governance, confidentiality, and quality control. Desired Skills and

Qualifications:
• Minimum of five years of relevant marketing and business development experience in a law firm or comparable professional services environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred; relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience supporting practices and key stakeholders across European and Asian markets, or within a global organization operating across multiple jurisdictions.
• Familiarity with regulatory subject matter, such as privacy, cybersecurity, antitrust, international trade, sanctions, data regulations, or consumer protection.
• Self-motivated, positive attitude, and a curiosity about technology, life sciences, and evolving regulatory needs for businesses operating in a global economy.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience using AI or generative AI tools for research, content development, or workflow automation, with the judgment to evaluate and correct AI output.
• Sound customer service ethic with excellent written and oral communication skills, with exacting attention to detail and fact checking skills across all work product.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities/deadlines across multiple time zones and stay productive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and attention to detail under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and within cross-functional, cross-border teams, managing simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with business development and CRM systems, as well as an aptitude for learning new software, systems, databases, and procedures quickly.
• Position ideally based in our Brussels office, with the ability to travel and attend key events and meetings on occasion.
