At Dekimo Experts, we support our clients in carrying out innovative projects in the fields of embedded systems, electronics, and cutting-edge technologies. With over 40 years of experience, we are part of a Belgian group with an international presence, firmly established in Belgium and also operating in the Netherlands, France, and Germany. Our consultants contribute to a wide range of projects in cutting-edge sectors such as aerospace, mobility, medtech, energy, and manufacturing.
As such: You are co-responsible for all systems design activities. With the System Director, you define the architectural principles for all hardware / software products and ensure these principles are observed across the organization. With him, you design the architecture of our products, allocating business requirements to modules and interfaces and demonstrating required performances are met.
You are co-responsible for the systems design process (a.k.a. the roadmap of development) ensuring alignment with the company objectives and the requirements of applicable standards.
With the System Director, you organize the execution of systems design activities, tracking their quality, ensuring corrective actions are triggered when needed
You are co-responsible for all application modelling development activities, tracking their quality, ensuring corrective actions are triggered when needed
You ensure, with the System Director, that the technology selected, be it hardware or software, adequately meets the requirements you have formulated in your design.
You are the counterpart of the verification, validation and PM teams, making sure the roadmap is aligned with project schedules and delivered designs are verifiable and can be properly validated.
You have a Master degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or relevant Engineering field. A PhD or INCOSE certification is a plus.
You have 15+ years experience in systems design, ideally including a leadership position.
You are familiar with the requirements for developing critical software products, ideally in railway, and have participated in such development, ideally in leadership position.
You have a working knowledge of ERTMS and rolling stock on-board systems.
You are familiar with model-based systems engineering. You have demonstrated ability to lead and define systems design activities.
You enjoy going “hands on” when needed. Your extensive experience as a designer and software engineer allows you to write code or hack devices quickly that can be used as proof of concept or templates to be used by others.
You know how to organize and motivate systems engineers, and how to earn their respect and trust.
You are a team player. You admit that you can be wrong when a team member has a better idea.
A familiarity with agile development techniques, such as but not limited to TDD, CI/CD, SCM using Git, etc. is a plus.
Fluency in French and English is required. Knowledge of any other European language is a plus
As part of this opportunity, you will work as a Dekimo consultant at one of our clients’ sites, while receiving support and guidance from our teams.
