In order to strengthen our Degroof Petercam Asset Management Team, we are currently looking for a Senior Legal Counsel. In This Role You Will Support the Head of Legal in steering and managing the Legal department, coaching and supervising more junior colleagues. Support Legal team in the implementation of regulatory projects in the field of asset management (ESG, MiFID, UCITS, AIFM, RIS, DORA, outsourcing, marketing rules and regulations, etc.). Support the pan‑European distribution of investment funds and more in general all international activities of DPAM. Review, negotiate contracts with multiple funds’ and management company’s service providers and with institutional clients. Maintain good relationships with regulatory authorities (FSMA) and represent the company at the Belgian Asset Management Association (BEAMA). Monitor the regulatory and legislative evolution with a focus on asset management related topics. This role involves monitoring, analyzing, and communicating regulatory developments that may impact the business, and supporting the implementation of necessary compliance measures. Ensure that legal opportunities and needs are effectively identified, anticipated, assessed and managed in a business-oriented manner in line with local laws, regulations and best professional practices. You will report to the Head of Legal of Degroof Petercam Asset Management. Your profile Belgian Master in Law. Senior Legal Counsel with at least 6 years of experience as a lawyer familiar with asset management laws or in a similar position in the banking & finance industry. Additional in‑house experience is a plus. Fluent in French and English, with a least a passive knowledge of Dutch. Highly motivated and able to integrate quickly in a new environment. Able to work autonomously and to steer a small team. Solution oriented, organized and pro‑active. Analytical thinker with sound business acumen, objectivity and accountability. Ability to translate complex theoretical principles towards the practical implications for the asset management business. Ability of building up good interpersonal relationship and working in close partnership with the people in the business.
