Product Owner – Data Governance (Permanent Position)About the RoleAre you passionate about the power of trusted data and eager to shape how organizations govern and use it?As a Business Product Owner – Data Governance, you will play a pivotal role in the transformation toward a truly data-driven organization. You translate complex business needs into a clear vision, roadmap, and governance framework that ensure data is accurate, compliant, and strategically valuable across all business domains.You act as the bridge between business, IT, risk, and compliance, ensuring that data becomes not just an operational tool, but a strategic asset for decision-making and innovation.Your ResponsibilitiesDevelop and communicate a clear product vision for data governance in line with the broader data and business strategy.Define and manage the product roadmap and backlog, prioritizing initiatives on data quality, data definitions, lineage, and metadata management.Translate business requirements into actionable epics and user stories together with data stewards, analysts, and IT delivery teams.Define and monitor KPIs related to data quality, compliance, and adoption of governance processes.Facilitate stakeholder alignment across business units, risk, compliance, and data management functions.Drive the cultural shift toward data ownership and accountability across the organization.Contribute to the implementation of data governance frameworks and tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, or DAMA-DMBOK-aligned solutions).Ensure compliance with relevant regulations such as GDPR, BCBS 239, NIS2, ESG reporting, or internal governance standards.What We're Looking ForAt least 5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Data Governance Lead within a complex or regulated environment.Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, lineage, master data, and data ownership.Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and the ability to define business value in an iterative delivery context.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — able to make complex topics clear for non-technical audiences.Experience with data-related regulatory frameworks (GDPR, ESG, BCBS, DORA, etc.) is a strong plus.Knowledge of BPMN, UML, SQL, or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Collibra) is an asset.Fluent in English and Dutch (French is considered a plus).Your ProfileYou are proactive and results-driven — you don't wait for direction; you create it.You are a connector who bridges business, IT, and compliance worlds.You combine analytical depth with a strong sense of strategic impact.You thrive in environments with ownership, autonomy, and accountability.You see data not just as numbers, but as a living ecosystem that fuels the organization.What We OfferA key position in a high-visibility data transformation program.The opportunity to build the foundations of a modern data governance ecosystem.An environment that values initiative, autonomy, and continuous growth.A competitive compensation package with attractive fringe benefits.
