Experience Level: Senior (5+ years) Contract type: Freelance Project & Role Overview Joining the Customer Management Tribe , you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the functional integrity and performance of mission‑critical applications. As a Senior Test Engineer, you will provide second‑line functional support while driving the automation strategy for the domain. Your mission is to optimize user experience through rigorous testing, ensuring that application data and workflows operate seamlessly within a complex service environment. Primary Responsibilities Test Strategy & Execution: Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test scenarios and cases in collaboration with developers, analysts, and UAT testers. Automation Leadership: Drive the transition to automation, maintaining a balance of 80% automated and 20% manual testing (specifically for web and SOAP‑based applications). Quality Assurance: Execute regression and non‑regression testing to safeguard existing functionalities during rapid development cycles. Framework Management: Oversee the test framework and environment, adjusting configurations to ensure reliable execution. Peer Review: Evaluate and approve deliverables from other testers, including test plans and automated scripts. Reporting & Analysis: Document results, monitor progress against timelines, and provide detailed quality reports to team leaders and stakeholders. Continuous Improvement: Analyze the development lifecycle to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements that prevent production‑stage defects. Technical Qualifications SOAP & REST: Expert‑level knowledge of SOAPUI is mandatory. Strong proficiency in REST webservices (experience with IIB is a plus). Automation Tools: Strong hands‑on experience with Java (Selenium scripting) and familiarity with RQM. Methodologies: Deep understanding of QA methodologies and the ISTQB framework. Data & Performance: Basic SQL proficiency for data validation. Knowledge of JMeter for performance testing is a significant advantage. Tooling: Experience with JIRA for task tracking and defect management. Soft Skills & Background Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a dedicated QA/Testing role. Mindset: A motivated self‑starter who is highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision. Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service and team collaboration. Industry Knowledge: Experience within the healthcare or insurance sectors is highly valued. Language Requirements English: Mandatory (Professional working proficiency). French and/or Dutch: Fluent/Working proficiency in at least one is required.
