We are looking for an
H&G Regional IT Systems Specialist - Hub & Sort based in Diegem, Belgium. To provide on-site and remote technical support for the IT systems managing the DHL Auto-sort facilities in EU.

Primary responsibilities are to provide expertise with respect to IT-based Auto-sort technologies and driving incident/problem resolution with technically complex software and integrated solutions in a time-critical environment.


  • Start date of the role is 1 October.

How will you contribute to the success of DHL?:

  • Monitor service performance (e.g. OVO Alerts, H/W, DB, OS etc.) and initiate corrective action, making sure IT is fully optimized to support the business
  • ensuring necessary resources (people, technology) are available to allow business to achieve its operational goals.
  • Supporting regional project and business decision makers in the resolution of conflicting priorities, enabling projects in scope to move forward.
  • Active participant in business project teams/boards representing the IT components within a projects.
  • Produce quality service performance reporting for management review i.e. incident management, KPI compliance, RCA etc.
  • Participate in training work packages prescribed by Regional/Global BIT and capture knowledge to distribute amongst rest of team.
  • Actively capture and retain knowledge for department using existing support and project tasks.
  • Build necessary processes and measures in line with existing DHL standards, to maximize department support capabilities.
  • Perform 2ndlevel technical support for IT systems used in DHL Autosort having knowledge of endtoendsolution: including SATS, Hardware, OS, Network, upstream and downstream data feeds from EU legacy and EGAP systems, Tier 2 /MHS, SCADA etc.
  • Execute the deployment of assigned IT deliverables within a project, ensuring they're of highquality, ontime and to budget.
  • Participate and actively contribute to project meetings and forums.
  • Take proactive action on project Issues and Risk, managing/tracing them through to Closure.
  • Perform technical quality assurance and solution testing during new deployments/implementations.
  • Support local IT/Ops teams, ensuring adequate knowledge of processes and practices for managing incidents.

Do you have what it takes?:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent academic qualification preferred
  • Technical knowledge and skills in areas of: OS (Windows, Linux), Database (Oracle), Network and Data analysis, Hardware, Middleware, Shell scripting, SCADA, PLC etc.
  • Knowledge and understanding of interfacing EGAP solutions (e.g. SCL, DCE, DMG etc.) and GSOP processes
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of IT solution architecture design and technology used
  • Knowledge and understanding of DHL system development, support processes and tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills, particularly in high pressure, time sensitive environments
  • Energetic, not easily deterred, resultsoriented; capable of working independently and in virtual structures alongside Local, Regional and Global BIT teams during service recovery and project deployment
  • Welldeveloped communication skills (both written and oral) with technical and nontechnical teams as well as senior management
  • The ability to build good working relationships within the company, across multiple project teams and partners/suppliers
  • Willingness to work across different shifts i.e. AM/PM/NT
  • Experience working in largescale infrastructure projects, using Service and Project Management methodologies and tools
  • Knowledge of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) technologies
  • Strong understanding of business/warehouse operational processes
  • Experience in multinational organization with high volume/high transaction environment including physical shipment of goods
