Senior Manager Regional Outbound Transportation

The DELIVER organization strives to deliver an exceptional customer experience through leading critical customer facing functions such as distribution, customer service, logistics and transportation across Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies. DELIVER EMEA manages a complex network of Distribution centers (DC’s) and Customer Services centers across Europe, Middle East and Africa supporting multiple distribution channels to J&J broad range of customers.
The transportation function within DELIVER focuses on the oversight of direct distribution out of the Regional hub(s) and local market distribution centers, ensuring reliability, speed, quality and compliance delivering a seamless transportation Customer experience ensuring value creation for our Customers to fulfill J&Js promise.
The Senior Manager for regional outbound transportation provides strategic and operational oversight / management of the EMEA MedTech outbound transportation lanes servicing customers from Hub and affiliate distribution centers.
Responsible for managing a budget spend of circa $45M across approximately 30 different transportation providers the Senior manager for regional outbound transportation will ensure reliable, complaint, cost optimized transportation services to service customers across EMEA.
This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, IT, finance and supply chain, to ensure that technology and processes are aligned with the overall goals and objectives of the organization:
- Leads team of direct reports ensuring that transportation providers provide the best possible service at an optimum cost.
- Responsible for managing annual regional budget spend of circa $45M across 60 different transportation providers.
- Drives continuous improvement and create value aligned with the DELIVER vision, strategy, standards and international legislations, in order to eliminate non-valued activities and quality inhibitors and by measuring 3rd Party Transportation Service Providers:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new business processes that streamline operations and enhance the customer experience.
- Analyze business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and develop action plans to drive change.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies and make recommendations for implementation.
- Communicate project updates and results to stakeholders, including senior management and stakeholders in other departments.
- Develop and maintain metrics to measure the success of technology and process improvements.
- Ensures governance of the freight audit management solution driving automation and standardization of freight audit solutions.
- Works in Coordination with IT and PLO transportation EMEA to drive IT enhancement strategy for transportation related system activities.
- Supports daily operational operations: daily contact with Courcelles Ops teams (Shipping, Customer Service, Control Tower,) and link with carriers to follow-up on shipments, provide ETAs to customers and resolve potential issues.
- Manages contractual relationships with carriers to ensuring accountability to service outside of contractual agreement, working with Carriers to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Drives cost, compliance and safety improvement opportunities to meet budget and compliance commitments.
- Supports and actively participates to quality internal/external audits.

**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor or University degree in Logistics / Supply Chain / Business or equivalent through experience.
- Proven experience in technology and business process management within Distribution, Supply chain, transportation industry.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain and transportation operations, technologies, and processes.
- Languages: Fluent in English, other European languages are a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends, assess risk, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Innovative mindset with capability for problem solving, compliance orientation/GDP knowledge/quality mindset, business case development and trade-off alignment.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- E2E mentality and collaborative, Customer focused approach. Ability to partner with and influence others without direct authority.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement and build best practices in Operations efficiency with a focus on Transportation management to drive E2E value.
- Customer oriented and dedicated attitude.
- Familiar with MS-Office tools and ERP packages.
- Knowledge on and experience in Transportation, Planning, Carrier management and/or E2E Supply chain related disciplines is a plus.
- Experience with 3PL contractor management is an asset.
