Your mission
  • As a Service Monitoring Center and Incident Coordination (SMC-IC) Engineer, your main task is to monitor the Orange network and its associated IT & Telco services. You work closely with other engineering and operational teams to prioritize planned operations and minimize any impact on Orange Customers and IT operations. Your role also involves serving as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for internal teams and external partners during incidents (Change, Incident, Event, Problem, and Configuration Management).
  • The job requires round-the-clock availability, as activities are carried out 24/7. As an SMC-IC engineer, you will be part of a shift rotation.
As an SMC-IC Engineer:
  • You are responsible for monitoring Orange services and applications for both internal and external customers using various tools and techniques such as real-time traffic analysis, trend analysis, and simulation to predict impact.
  • You conduct initial event analysis to assess customer impact and facilitate incident resolution.
  • You lead the resolution of incidents related to Orange products & services, applications, and network elements across all IT and Telco Network domains for internal and external customers.
  • You engage with partners/suppliers to discuss proposed solutions and estimated Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
  • You handle technical and management escalations, coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
  • You are empowered to make decisions at the onset of incidents, prioritize tasks, and see them through to closure, especially during non-business hours, while also correcting any process deviations proactively.
  • You collaborate with command center experts and external teams to develop and implement new processes, operational documentation, and working methods.
  • You conduct post-incident analysis, identify root causes, and work with internal teams and external partners to prevent recurrence.
Your profile
  • You should hold a secondary degree with a solid understanding of IT and Telecom operations and familiarity with ITIL framework and processes.
  • You must possess strong analytical and problems-solving skills.
  • Good negotiation and communication skills are essential for this role.
  • You should be adept at leading meetings with multiple stakeholders.
  • The ability to manage crisis situations and set priorities under pressure while adhering to established procedures is crucial.
  • Customer-centric and service-oriented approach to communication is required.
  • Proficiency in Dutch or French along with good English proficiency (both written and spoken) is necessary.
