Material Replenishment Planner

The Material Replenishment Planner ensures the seamless availability of packaging materials for the Belgian production sites. This role determines optimal quantities and timing for material orders, balancing demand and inventory data. The planner manages inventory levels and collaborates with suppliers to ensure material availability, aligning with production planning and logistics. He/she is also responsible for ensuring that the materials meet the company’s quality standards.

The Material Replenishment Planner develops and adjusts a material requirements schedule based on actual needs for a set of suppliers. The role optimizes service, working capital, and material costs by balancing required and available materials, considering network lead times and order quantities.

- You monitor supply plans to identify changes and determine their effect on future material requirements schedules.
- You collaborate closely with finished goods planning teams to ensure proper coverage.
- You work closely with the production team to understand material needs and to ensure smooth production processes.
- You establish critical inventory parameters, such as safety stock settings, replenishment quantity, and launch quantity, considering constraints like lead time and order cycle time.
- You align with (critical) suppliers on availability, key risks and constraints in the short and midterm. You resolve any issues related to material shortages or delays.
- You work with procurement and suppliers on service-level agreements to align lead times and minimum order quantities.
- You report on back orders, short stock, excess items, and slow-moving inventory to the concerned parties.
- You measure, analyse, and report key process metrics, and monitor adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs).
- You identify opportunities for process improvements.
- You improve and upgrade material planning systems and reporting.
- You analyse supplier performance and inventories to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
- You identify and implement cost-saving strategies for material procurement.

Your ingredients
- You have a degree in the field of expertise like operations, supply chain management, business (B.Sc.) or equivalent years in experience.
- You have at least two years working experience in a similar or related role.
- A certification in supply chain from APICS, certified in production and inventory management (CPIM) is a plus.
- You are an analytical thinker and a strong communicator with an eye for detail.
- You are a proactive problem solver and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- You can work independently, but also as part of a team.
- You are able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- You are a highly organized individual with a passion for supply chain management and a commitment to excellence.
- You commonly use business software (ERP/Excel/Word/PowerPoint/ ).
- You are fluent with figures and can translate them into conclusions and action points.
- You work with conviction and commitment to be the best at what you do.
- You build long-term relationships and collaborations with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and partners. You perform tasks thoroughly with attention to detail.
