This role reports to the Senior Manager of Industrial Projects and is responsible for planning, managing, and executing the technical aspects and scope of CAPEX projects during all phases of a project, starting with the Feasibility Study and concluding with the complete handover to operations. The project manager will supervise/coach internal and external project resources/consultants/advisors, and the execution of the site construction. The Project Manager may be assigned an Engineering Manager depending on the size and complexity of the project/assignment. The Project Manager manages all aspects of a project for all business segments of the organization.
ATTRIBUTES:
- Demonstrated the ability to successfully lead a project team
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, AutoCad, and SAP software.
- Knowledge of plant design (vertical kilns, rotary kilns, minerals facilities, terminals,), engineering, commissioning, and operations.
- Knowledge of engineering disciplines.
- Strong knowledge of design standards and tools specific to the mining industry.
- Strong knowledge of process and mass flow calculations as well as design principles.
- Knowledge of various process equipment, material handling, and logistics.
- Knowledge and basic understanding of civil, electrical, and automation engineering, principles, and practices.
- Knowledge of construction.
- Leadership and technical decision skills for industrial projects.
- Capacity to forecast, analyze and mitigate technical risks.
- Managerial and communication skills.
- Reporting - accurately and timely.
- Able to communicate in a multicultural environment (written and verbal).
- Negotiating skills and ability to communicate internally as well as with external third parties.
- Able to work under pressure and in a matrix organization with teams located in several locations.
- Open-minded for change and innovation.
- A team player committed to the Group values and ethics.
- Self-driven requiring little guidance from others to direct work.
- Able to guide, coach, and develop others.
- Strong analytical skills, sense of priorities, urgency, and decision-making ability.
- Able to travel extensively to specific work locations related to the project assignment.
Required Experience and Education: 1 - 10 years in Project related experience from feasibility through commissioning or relevant plant experience. Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
