SALES MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION**:Sales Manager**
REPORTS TO**:DOSM/General Manager**

The Sales Manager’s mission is to primarily promote the hotel and where possible, hotels belonging to the chain in your area/region. This position is accountable for managing the total sales effort within a hotel including the integrity of the customer base of key accounts/key prospects the generation of revenue consistent with hotel objectives.
The sales manager performs his/her duties within the framework defined by the chain and hotel norms and by internal regulation as specified by DOSM or General Manager.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead to drive total hotel revenue and take responsibility for the achievement of budgeted revenue streams.
- Develop and execute sales strategies through preparation of a strategic sales plan.
- Implementation and administration of the sales budget and the establishment of annual individual sales goals.
- Ensure understanding of the competitive landscape, local and feeder market dynamics, and changing customer needs to ensure property success.
- Lead effective efforts to coordinate strategies for group sales and to optimize conversion.
- Provide guidance for local marketing initiatives.
- Communicate revenue management standards and best practices.
- Develops short, medium and long-term strategies for hotels through the commercial focus matrix and provide consultative support to other commercial support functions.
- Prepare, analyse and write reports to outline business progress and opportunities.
- Assist with the account diagnostics process and validate conclusions for negotiated business and on-line sales strategies.
- Maintain effective working relationships with all key suppliers
- Excellent organization skills.
- Ability to work well under time pressure and / or demanding travel schedules.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a full understanding of professional ethics, decorum and social skills required for extensive interaction with customers, investment owners and business partners.
- Ability to perform critical analysis.
- Provides customer intelligence in evaluating the market and economic trends that may lead to changes in sales strategy to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Reviews the strategic alignment review (STR) report, competitive shopping reports and uses other resources to maintain an awareness of the hotel’s market position.
- Records the statistics of his sales accounts.
- Defines precisely guest requirements and ensures that the guest services offered corresponds effectively to their requests.
- Ensure that all sales related activities support customer satisfaction, retention and new business development goals.
- Ensure to have an up-to-date knowledge of all room categories and amenities.
- Ensure to have an up-to-date knowledge of all M&E related venues as well as the F&B offering of the hotel.

SALES MANAGER
- Maintain excellent communication and work relationships in all hotel areas and with external customers and suppliers.
- Ensure that the hotel is registered and participates with as many corporate travel programs as possible.
- Contribute to succession planning within the hotel and company.
- Ensure comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation.
- Ensure clos overview of RFP process and related systems to ensure maximum exposure and participation.
- Ensure adhere to hotel's principles and procedures
- Ensure Famtrips are planned & organized & executed.
- Ensure to be fully aware of and adhere to the company’s credit policies, rules & regulations.
- Ensure sales of Tangla club memberships is maximized.
- Participation in Manager on Duty shifts as required.
- Ensure observance of safety and security rules at all times.
- Maintains a system in place to report sales call & other sales activates (Opera).
- Development of new products and services corresponding to five stars hotel, in order to reinforce the branding of the hotel.
- Presenting sales results to the board on a quarterly and annual basis (to be adapt).
- Supports the equitable assignment of sales force quotas and ensures quotas are optimally allocated to all sales channels and resources.
- Serves the customer by understanding their needs and recommending the appropriate features and services that best meet their needs and exceed their expectations, while building a relationship and loyalty to Hotel.
- Gains understanding of the hotel’s primary target customer and service expectations; serves the customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solution bot prior to, and during the program/event.

Languages required: English and French. Dutch is a plus.
