**Agora Energiewende**:
Achieving the EU’s ambitious energy and climate goals and reducing Europe’s dependence on fossil fuel imports will require a rapid decarbonisation of the built environment, from the energy we use for heating, cooling, cooking and appliances, to the materials we use for construction.
Agora Energiewende develops evidence-based strategies for ensuring the success of clean energy and industry transitions around the globe. As independent and non-partisan think tank and policy laboratory, we analyse upcoming challenges, share knowledge with decision-makers and stakeholders and enable a productive exchange of ideas.
Our team is multinational, multidisciplinary, and works across the globe with various partner organisations. To support our growing work on buildings and heating decarbonisation in Europe we are looking for a:
**Project Officer or Project Manager for Climate-Neutral Buildings (f/m/d)**
Brussels-based, full-or part-time role (minimum 32 hours)

In this role, you will be part of our 12 people strong EU Team based both in Berlin and Brussels. In collaboration with colleagues from a range of different backgrounds you will work on the following topics:

- Phasing-out the use of fossil fuels for heating, cooling & cooking in buildings and district energy and accelerating the deployment of clean and sustainable heating, cooling & cooking solutions in buildings;
- Reforming and strengthening building standards, product policies and electricity market rules to enable a smart, flexible and efficient electrification of the EU building stock;
- Accelerating the renovation of the EU building stock to achieve healthier, more comfortable and more energy efficient homes;
- Lowering the carbon and environmental footprint of the built environment in Europe with regards to embodied emissions in new construction and renovation activities.

**Your responsibilities include**:
In the role as **Project Officer**, your responsibilities will include:

- Contributing to the conceptualisation, development and delivery of complex research projects in close collaboration with Agora colleagues;
- Developing quantitative tools and datasets for policy analysis;
- Drafting articles, presentations and reports;
- Contributing to internal strategy development and discussions;
- Working closely with colleagues in the Berlin-based programme for Buildings and Heat Grids and regularly (virtually) attending team meetings to help coordinate activities across geographies;
- Working closely with colleagues in the Europe team working on industry, power and land-use to coordinate and contribute to buildings-related activities and projects;
- Building partnerships on buildings-related work and working closely with network partners in Brussels and throughout Europe.

As a
**Project Manager**, your responsibilities would also include:

- Responsibility for managing research projects - under the supervision of a Project or Programme Lead;
- Responsibility for representing Agora Energiewende at external events and in helping to drive Agora Energiewende’s engagement with external stakeholders and partners.
