**YOUR TASKS**
**About the Role**:
Ghent University is seeking a highly motivated professional to lead and execute the contributions of Ghent University in reaching the objectives of the newly established inter-university Flemish Chips Competence Centre (FC3).
The Chips Competence Centers are part of the EU Chips Act, aimed at bolstering Europe's semiconductor capabilities. These centers are designed to play a fundamental role in strengthening Europe’s semiconductor innovation system. They will provide businesses—especially SMEs and start-ups—with essential resources to develop semiconductor solutions, including support, training, access to large infrastructure facilities established under the Chips Act, such as pilot lines and the design platform and to the Chips Fund.
Within the FC3 project you will become part of an inter-university team with similar profiles from KU Leuven, the University of Antwerp and Vrije Universiteit Brussel. You will interact and align closely with the diverse chips research teams at the FC3 partners, especially within Ghent University, and the business developers.
**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Promote Chips JU Actions: Promote the actions of the Chips Joint Undertaking (JU) and act as the first contact point for users to access infrastructures set up by the Chips JU and the complementary expertise and infrastructure of the FC3 partners.
2. Identify Needs and understand the Ghent University value proposition: Stay abreast of the R&D and workforce training needs in the Flemish and EU semiconductor innovation system and build a clear view on the unique value proposition of the Ghent University expertise and infrastructure in Flanders and the EU.
3. Stimulate and Facilitate R&D Collaborations: Shape initiatives and solutions to position and unlock the Ghent University expertise and infrastructure to the Flemish and EU ecosystem. Drive all actions to realize the specific FC3-wide objectives to better unlock the lab-infrastructure of the FC3 partners to the ecosystem, including via a common online portal, and to simulate and support participation of Flemish companies in relevant EU project calls.
4. Create synergy: Identify and act on opportunities for synergy between the FC3 partners, the Chips Act Pilot Lines and Design Platform, and the capabilities of Flemish industry. Demonstrate and deepen these links via the definition of common pathfinder demonstrators showcasing these unique capabilities and the scalability of new developments. Stimulate and manage the dissemination of the results via contributions to articles on the website, via newsletters and white papers.
5. Define and promote new skill training initiatives: Define new courses at Ghent University tailored to the training needs of Flemish companies and take initiative to promote these. Ensure the continued relevance and monitor the quality via direct contacts with the participants and companies.
6. Stimulate workforce development via long-term STEM initiatives: Identify and act on opportunities to create enthusiasm with children and students of all ages towards STEM studies and a career in the electronics and photonics industry
**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**
- A master degree in engineering or exact sciences, or equivalent based on extensive industry experience.
- Proven experience in, or affinity with, R&D in the microelectronics sector.
- Excellent communication skills, customer-oriented, and diplomatic.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders as a team player.
- Passion for staying updated on the latest advancements in techniques, technologies, and industry trends.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in other European languages is an asset.
**WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU**
- We offer you a contract of indefinite duration
- Your contract will start on May 1 at the earliest.
