**About us**

Eurocarers is the European network representing informal carers at EU level. Our network brings together 75 non-profit organisations, research institutes and universities from 26 countries.

We define a carer as a person who provides unpaid care to someone with a chronic illness, disability or other long-lasting care needs, outside of a professional context. Informal carers provide the bulk of all care in Europe today, with women providing the lion’s share as daughters (in law) and wives/partners. This often takes place at the expense of their own health, social and professional life.

Our work aims to inform the development of sustainable, people-centred and community-based care services that recognise and support the role of informal carers in order to prevent the negative impact of their caregiving.

**About the job**

The mission of Eurocarers is to:

- Document and raise awareness about the contribution of informal carers to care systems and the economy as a whole and the impact of caregiving on their daily life,
- Promote innovative solutions to address the daily challenges facing carers across Europe; and
- Contribute to evidence-based policy and practice in support of more care(r)-friendly societies.

We are looking for a committed Project Officer who is passionate about the future of care and social protection in Europe to reinforce our small but energetic international team in Brussels.

As our new colleague, you will play a leading role in the design and implementation of research projects focusing on care and caring in Europe. You will also help formulate and disseminate policy recommendations of relevance to our mission.

**Main responsibilities**
- Overall responsibility for the implementation of EU-funded research projects (Horizon 2020, Erasmus+, etc.), including administrative and contractual matters, expert support, networking as well as technical & financial reporting;
- Transfer of evidence and innovative solutions concerning care and caring;
- Dissemination of project results and learnings, in collaboration with the Communication officer;
- Continuous communication with project partners and Eurocarers members;
- Budget management, in collaboration with the Finance and administration officer;
- Identification and assessment of research opportunities published by the EU and other donors;
- Early identification and networking with potential consortium partners as well as leading negotiations.

**Your profile**
- Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Political Sciences, Sociology, Economics, Development Studies, Social Psychology or similar;
- At least 5 years proven experience with EU technical assistance projects, either in business development / tender preparation or in EU project management;
- Proven experience in contract negotiations with international cooperation partners;
- Full IT proficiency (MS Office);
- Excellent knowledge of English - other languages will be considered an asset;
- Able to work autonomously under high time pressure and workload;
- Intercultural skills, problem-solving minded and with a service-oriented attitude;
- Adherence to Eurocarers’ vision (experience working with or as informal carer an asset);
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and keen on working in a team.

**What we offer**
- Full-time position (38 h/week), permanent contract, based in our secretariat in Brussels;
- Remuneration according to experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include 13th month pay, luncheon vouchers, pension scheme, medical insurance, flexible work arrangements and generous annual leaves;
