Are you an experienced **finance professional **ready for the next step in your career? Our client, a valued international NGO, is looking for a Finance Manager to manage all aspects of the **financial activities **of their entity registered in Brussels.
Do you have a strong understanding of **bookkeeping **and statutory **reporting **per Belgian accounting standards? Are you eager to join a dedicated international team to defend digital human rights? Then you might be the new **Finance Manager** we are looking for.Your job description as a Finance Manager:
The Finance Manager connects the various **global finance functions** and workflows to ensure strong **collaboration **and consistency across the global organization. In this role you will be **reporting **to both the Operations legal representative of the Belgian entity and the Global Finance Director.**Accounting A/R, A/P**
- Supervise local **bookkeeping **including providing guidance to external accountants: Code entries for relevant grants and internally defined segmentation categories;
- Conduct financial year end closure and assist in consolidating global financial accounts with the global Finance team;
- Handle **accounts **receivable (including invoicing), payable, and banking.
**Budgeting & reporting**
- Manage the creation of **local **budgets **in collaboration with the global Finance team and programmatic leaders;
- Upon completion, scrutinize, oversee, and administer local annual and quarterly programmatic and operational budgets;
- Generate **financial reports** and analyses for both internal and external purposes, pertaining to budgets, expenditures, grant allocations, etc.
**Grants management**
- Administer financial aspects of **grants **linked to the Belgian entity, including overseeing grant allocations and controls;
- Create grant** budget proposals **and reports, collaborating closely with the Grants & Contracts Manager, development, and programmatic teams.
**Compliance, internal controls, administration**
- Ensure **adherence **to local tax and financial requirements;
- Provide **guidance **to management on operational decisions concerning the entity;
- Oversee local audit procedures and assist with organization-wide audits;
- Create, revise, and uphold **financial **internal **controls**, processes, policies, and trackers in Google Suite;
- Offer **collaborative support **and insights to Finance colleagues in different European locations;
- Maintain precise filing and records for all financial documents;
- Fulfill any additional **responsibilities **as assigned.
Vereisten
- Formal education in **finance **or **accounting**;
- Minimum of **4 years** of experience in **bookkeeping **and **statutory reporting** according to Belgian accounting standards;
- Fluent in **English **and good knowledge of **French**. Knowledge of Dutch is a considered as a plus
- Demonstrable **experience **in financial management of budget, financial analysis and reporting;
- Able to manage and prioritizing multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment;
- Outstanding organizational skills and capability to work **autonomously **and **proactively**;
- Attention to **detail **and curiosity to delve deeper into data;
- Excellent **communication skills**, both written and verbal;
- Previous experience with nonprofit **finance management** is an advantage;
- Previous experience with **US GAAP** is an advantage.
