For this position you would be working with our client from the European institutions.
The Interoperable Europe Act, now in force, is a pivotal initiative aimed at enhancing public services throughout the EU and achieving Europe's digital goals by 2030. It establishes a framework for cooperation among EU public administrations to foster secure cross-border data exchange and develop shared digital solutions like open-source software and IT tools. This collaboration will streamline service delivery across borders and sectors, encouraging innovation in the public sector and public-private partnerships (GovTech projects). DIGIT.B2's interoperability policy team seeks an IT/interoperability specialist to advise on legal and policy matters related to the Act's implementation, including interoperability assessments, regulatory sandboxes, and governance structures.
Below are the details of your role and requirements.
**Your role**
- Legal and political analysis (and advice) on interoperability, AI and digital policy in general.
- Review and validation of deliverables under the policy contract tasks.
- Support the implementation of the Interoperable Europe Act.
- Support cooperation with and engagement of Member States, notably through the Chief Information Officer (CIO) network, the Interoperable Europe Board and the related governance, including the Interoperable Europe Agenda.
- Contribution to developing the support related to implementing interoperability assessments, in the context of the Act.
- Contribution to the regulatory sandboxes, in the context of the Act.
- Contribution to inter-service discussions on the digital/interoperability aspects of an upcoming policy proposal.
- Formulation and drafting of legal advice on specific policy proposals.
- Regular reporting to the project officer.

- Strong expertise in IT and policy matters, particularly concerning the newly implemented Interoperable Europe Act.
- Extensive knowledge of interoperability policy and a comprehensive grasp of the Act, including its implications for interoperability assessments, regulatory sandboxes, and governance structures.
- Proficient in collaborating with Member States and high-level groups.
- Background in legal and political analysis focused on AI, interoperability, and broader digital policy issues.

- Proven track record of supporting various Commission Services and agencies in policy design, organizing high-level meetings, and facilitating communication with Member States.
