Stage/tfe - Development of a Military Grade
il y a 2 semaines
**1. THESIS **DESCRIPTION**
The goal of this thesis is to develop a prototype of a backup system for the turret motion. The system is aim to be use when the main motion system of the turret is defective and unusable. The designed system should be simple so that it is simple to integer into a turret. The military standard should be successfully passed (Main issue being the EMC).
**1.1**
**Define the**
**needs.**
The student will investigate with the team the different possibilities of backup. Do we have a backup battery? What type of motor do we use? How do we gear the motor? How do we control the motors? How to place the backup motors (There is two freedom of movement) in the turret?
**1.2.**
**Conceptual**
**design**
The electrical constrains on the device should be studied to be able to successfully pass military standard (mainly EMC). A safety mechanism should be implemented in case of defect. The global system architecture should be discussed with the team as well as the mechanical integration.
**1.3**
**Create the prototype and test**
**it**
The student will design a board to control at least one freedom of movement. Tests should be carried out on the device to verify performances.
- BDC (Brushed DC) motors
- BDC controller
- EMC
- Filtering
- Analog sensor
- PCB design
- Altium Designer
The student should be interested in EMC and in PCB design.
**2. STUDENT INTERNAL **SUPPORT**
During this thesis, the student will be supported by the electronic R&D department and the electronic industrialization and prototyping department of John Cockerill Defense.
**3. PREFERED SCHOOL/UNIVERSITY **SUPPORT**
Second year of master's degree. The EMC standard are difficult to successfully pass. A support in EMC is a plus.
**4. **REQUIRED LANGUAGE**
Both English or French
