**Wat ga je doen?**:
Our client, a chemical company in Antwerp Linkeroever is looking for a research & development scientist.
You are involved in the development of new products, production methods or product compositions (labscale en upscaling in production).
**Tasks**:
You will be responsible for:
Scaling up and producing new products in the test phase of the project up to and including trial production run.
- Evaluating new or alternative raw materials through testing in the R&D lab and then in production, or directly in production; if positive, include it in new project design.
- Optimizing the production process by statistical analysis
- Preparing MSDS request for new finished products and new raw materials.
- Drafting and adapting work instructions, procedures, specifications and technical data sheets (TDS), so that production according to specifications can be guaranteed.
- Managing and adapting formulations at the request of internal stakeholders.
- Presenting project results during sales / technical and project meetings.
- Answering technical questions following customer visits or at the request of R&D colleagues in other locations based on research data or know-how.
- Investigating technical complaints or claims relating to (formulation of) products in consultation with the QC Manager.
Performing physico-chemical tests (such as GPC, GC, particle size determination) using laboratory equipment according to established standards; for this purpose also setting and calibrating measuring equipment.
- Ordering indirect materials R&D and QC lab according to procedure in collaboration with the QC department; To this end, also draw up a cost estimate for (preventive) replacement of measuring equipment.
- Providing technical support for the innovation department.
**Wie zoeken wij voor R&D scientist?**:
- You have Bachelor or Master degree in Chemistry.
- You have a thorough knowledge of chemistry (coatings, inks), GC and GCP analyses
- You have knowledge of production processes and installations.
- Knowledge of basic office software.
- Statistical analysis knowledge is desired
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills English and Dutch
- Communicative and customer oriented
- Teamplayer and taking lead in projects
