Fluor Engineering NV, located in Antwerp, is focused on developing long-term relationships with customers in revamping, debottlenecking and expanding the production capacity of their existing facilities in all sectors of the Process Industry in Belgium: Chemical, Petrochemical, Power, Life Sciences, Food, Pharmaceutical, Recycling. The Antwerp office provides full project execution services: from conceptual engineering, basic engineering, and detailed engineering through commissioning and construction support.

The Electrical & Instrumentation & Control system group is a dynamic team in which engineering, design and leadership skills are combined to effectively support our clients. In addition to a solid education focusing on engineering and/or design, a strong set of personal competencies is a prerequisite for success. Being a team player and having an ability to interact effectively with client’s organization and other disciplines in our taskforce is essential.

In these projects, the lead engineer takes responsibility for the E&I&CS functionality for one or more projects in the oil, gas and (petro-) chemical industry. Leading 4-10 people and supported/coached by a senior engineer, the lead engineer works within a task force for the realization of multi-discipline projects in close cooperation with other disciplines, vendors and clients to translate functional specifications into technical solutions.

The successful candidate is responsible for and must be able to:

1. Perform engineering in several project phases

2. Conduct feasibility studies, conceptual design and front-end design

3. Detail engineering and design and plant commissioning for integration of new facilities in revamp types

4. Develop P&ID’s, instrument index; instrument datasheets/specifications, instrument block diagrams

5. Control detailed design including cable schedules, panel layouts, instrument layouts, sketches, loop and wiring diagrams, hook-ups, cable trays

6. Control electrical design and engineering; selection of materials; E&I&CS input to other disciplines

7. Complete the cycle of writing/reviewing instruments and control-systems specifications

8. Supplier selection, purchasing, supplier drawing review, Factory Acceptance Tests

9. Coordinate field implementation including Site Acceptance Test, commissioning and turnover

10. Provide input to Basic Engineering Design Packages and write contractor’s scope of work

11. Participate in HAZOP/ SIL/ LOPA sessions

12. Supervise, plan, and organize the work

13. Lead/coordinate the E&I&CS engineering/design team (4-10 people)

14. Assign work in cooperation with the senior lead engineer

15. Prepare schedules, estimates, manpower forecasts and apply change-risk management

16. Communicate and align with clients, vendors and other disciplines
