Freelance Risk officer

Review and monitor documentation of critical controls (RCSA, collection & maintenance) Define testing approaches (Test of Design, Test of Effectiveness), draft and execute test plans Prepare control testing reports and feed results into the annual internal control report Update and maintain the Risk & Control Matrix (RCM) reflecting testing outcomes Provide feedback to control owners on documentation quality and weaknesses Manage incoming audits / external audit requests, including evidence gathering Follow up action plans linked to control deficiencies or documentation gaps Experienced in internal control or audit, with hands-on work in controls testing Proactive, meticulous, able to work independently with oversight Strong communication skills (written & verbal), multi-lingual: English plus French or Dutch Risk-aware mindset, pragmatic, business-oriented, able to prioritise when demands conflict Good understanding of insurance industry and/or IT controls is a plus Opportunity to contribute in 2nd Line risk / internal control in a regulated setting Collaboration with senior risk & audit teams, exposure to external audit and regulatory reporting Hybrid working: partial remote with required presence in office (approx. 2 days/week)
