MSF Operational Centre Brussels is looking for a: Project Manager - Safeguarding Unit Transition (m/f/x) – Brussels – MSF Belgium CONTEXT We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to lead the transition of the OCB Group for Advice and Research on Ethics and Conduct (GAREC) and Behaviour Team into an OCB Safeguarding Unit. The expected duration is for 5 months (extendable). The transition is driven by the insights gained from the “Review of OCB Behaviour systems”. This review examined the current setup, mechanisms and tools used by OCB to address and manage issues related to abuse and behavior affecting staff, patients, communities, and resources. It provided recommendations on the setup, governance, policies, and resources needed for improvement. As a Project Manager - Safeguarding Unit Transition you will bring proven project management skills, a profound understanding of organizational dynamics, and a passion for humanitarian work. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Develop a comprehensive project plan and roadmap for the transition process, defining key milestones, deliverables, timelines, stakeholders, and resource requirements Collaborate with senior leadership including the Deputy General Director, the HR Director, and other members of the Committee of Directors (CODIR), especially for transversal issues in operations, medical and finance and other relevant stakeholders to identify current challenges, gaps, and opportunities for integration of the safeguarding unit into the organisational structure Monitor progress against the project plan, identify risks or obstacles, and take proactive measures to mitigate them Conduct regular stakeholder consultations and facilitate discussions to ensure buy-in and alignment with the proposed changes Manage the implementation of new processes, policies, and systems to support the transition, and liaising with relevant departments to minimize disruption to ongoing operations and GAREC investigations Provide guidance and support to team members throughout the transition process, addressing concerns and identifying training or development needs Regularly communicate updates and milestones to stakeholders, including senior management, staff members, and others Evaluate the success of the transition process against predefined metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) making recommendations for further improvements or adjustments as necessary Document lessons learned and best practices from the transition process to inform future organizational initiatives REQUIREMENTS Education & Experience At minimum a bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field At least 5 years proven experience as a Project Manager for organizational change and transition management, preferably in a humanitarian or nonprofit setting Pertinent HR experience and familiarity with HR processes is an asset Competencies Strong understanding of organizational development principles and change management methodologies Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus and resolve conflicts Proficiency in project management tools and software Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse environment Commitment to the mission and values of MSF Languages Fluency in English (spoken & written) mandatory Fluency in French is an asset CONDITIONS Expected starting date: As soon as possible Location*: Brussels (Belgium) *Due to administrative constraints, given the duration of the contract, candidates must already have the permanent right as Belgian resident or EU national and/or a valid work permit to work in the mentioned location Contract type: Fixed-term contract – full time – max 50% homeworking per week Contract duration: 5 months (extendable) Salary according to MSF-OCB HQ grid Meal Vouchers - Hospital Insurance (DKV) – Pension Plan – 100% reimbursement for public transportation costs Adhere to the MSF principles and to our managerial values: Respect, Transparency, Integrity, Accountability, Trust and Empowerment Adhere to the MSF Behavioral Commitments Deadline for applications: Monday, 1 st of July 2024 How to apply?
